After i started taking prevacid i didnt have diarrhea for 3 days but i had a hard BM then nothing for another 4 days then sharp pains and a long hard bm then every 2 days since. well I was up last night with the runs. every hour i was in the bathroom. And im still in the Bathroom every hour now. whats comming out now is yellow and mucusy. theres nothing in my system. What the heck is going on?

What kind of tests have you had? What you say there (mucus etc) makes me think of the two inflammatory bowel diseases: Crohn's and ulcerative colitis. Have you had tests for either of those?

I have been diagnosed with IBS but IBS should not last months and shut down your digestive tract to the point where you dont digest anything or absorb anything.

Blackdragon, I do hope you are feeling better by now. Still, this info may be helpful to others.
I have successfully overcome IBS without medication. My doc had me do a test for gulten allergy. Because the antibodies for gluten/casein are produced in the intestines we tested that way. Test showed I'm allergic to gluten. Been off gluten since May. It's been 3 and a half months of stomachache-free living! Yippee hurray!
May this be the end of a decade of severe stomach pains, etc.
