So basically to make a long story short I was diagnose with epilepsy about 3 years now so I take a lot of medication every day. Anyways about a year ago I started hearing someone call my name, stupid me i would answer to it and everything! Then it got a lot worse, it turn into full on screaming. I'm mean I just don't know what to do I feel totally crazy and when I tell people (like my mom) she just says its my imagination and ill grow out of it? But will I? It been a year now and it's keeps getting worse it also keeps me up ever night, I feel like maybe it's my seizure medication but its either hearing voices or have seizures again.. I just don't know

Hi, April21. I would definitely ask my doctor. He could help you find out what is causing the voices. Good luck.

the juncture of epilepsy and psychiatric disorders is very complex. What is disconcerting is that your post manifests that you do not have a good neurologist to monitor you and that you have waited for so long (a whole year) before trying to seek help. Telling your mom or other lay people about it is not really useful - they do not know how to react. It is too complex for them. Your mom appears a bit neglectful of you - an adult person with a child on neurological medications should know better than dismiss your voices the way she did. She appears to be wholly uneducated about your disorder, so I would stop talking to her about it unless you need her help in making a doctor appointment.

When is your next neurological exam? And when is your next MRI? Why would you mom say, 'you'll grow out of it?' Is it fear of it meaning more than the high chance, that it's part of your neurological condition? If it is the meds, 1 year, later, this hasn't been checked out??
Most neurology patients are 6 months to 1 year for every check up, and if something like this, presented itself, a scheduled visit in between regular check ups. Quote:
