Went to the Pdoc today for my yearly physical and it was not so good..... was told that I need to loose weight: cholesterol level is 300 and my BMI is 37% (any thing over 30% is bad), and I have a severe sinus infection, was given 2 meds for it... and a Z-pack for the infection.

I have to go back next week for an Ultra Sound of my uterus and ovaries (and get this) the instruction says to include a vaginal probe with all testing (what ever that is - I am afraid to find out - lol) and it says for me to drink 32 oz of water 1 hour before the procedure and that I am to hold my urine ....... Yeah right - have they forgotten that I have had three kids, and all were natural birth.... Eeeek!

Pdoc is wanting me to start a weight loss program and to go on XENICAL to help me loose the weight..... only problem is that my insurance will not cover this medicine and it cost around $100 a month - Big Sigh!!
But in all I need to loose the weight and I know it..... for I have a bad heart valve among every thing else.

Thanks for listening...........

Oh I had that ultra sound back in feb. It's interesting to say the least. They did the ultra sound and looked at the bladder. Then they had me empty my bladder for the next part of the test. Just to give you a heads up. ( I had no idea what I was in for, so just to tell you up front so you don't get triggered with the test. ) The probe is an internal ultra sound. Yeah, internal !! My tech was very nice. She had me incert the probe myself. So she didn't actually see me and she kept the sheet over me the whole time. I have an fibroid tumor and the probe was to look at that better. But I had no idea what I was walking into when I went for the ultra sound. So I just wanted to prepare you some. I hope it goes well for you. Might ask to put the probe in yourself if that makes you feel a little more at ease. Good Luck.

I posted some more information on healthy weight loss in this thread. http://forums.psychcentral.com/showf...5&o=31&fpart=1

Is there a reason your doc thinks you should use the diet pills? I would think you would be better off changing your lifestyle. The pills will help you lose weight, but what happens when you stop them? Dieting is a dirty word in my opinion, the only thing that is going to keep weight off is changing the way you eat for good. Slow and steady wins the race.

Did you doctor tell you that bulk fiber can help lower cholesterol? My mother has high cholesterol and she takes bulk fiber to control it as an alternative to statins.

Good luck with your ultrasound. I'm sorry that your physical did not go so well.

trying to put trigger icon up so that all will know this post is going to contain graphic material in it

Vaginal probe - Well its not the most comfortable thing LOL I had to have it done when I was pregnant and had placenta previa. and it triggered me big time.

This is going to sound gross but think of a plain (no ridges, bumps or cool colors) rounded tip dildo - only longer ... lots longer.

they vary in length but on the average 12 to 15 inches long so that the technitions gloved hand does not touch genital area other than opening to insert. and width is about 6-8 inches around (average penis sized).

Encased in side this dildo like tubing is the same ultrasound stuff a normal cold metal on the tummy one has.

The technition puts the gell on the tube, inserts and moves it around to get pictures from all sides of the vigina and uterus.

Beware gell is COLD and overies are very sensative, so when takling the pictures of the overies it sometimes feels like someone just slammed a good kick to the privates.

Thats the worst side of it.

The best side of it - A friend was able to remain in the room with me.

I've had both types of ultrasounds. I didn't like the ultrasound guy, but the woman that actually did the ultrasounds was very nice. They should have you empty your bladder before the internal ultrasound (I was so happy at that point I didn't care what they were going to do).

If you have more questions, let me know. I'd be happy to share whatever info I may have that would reassure you. It's very scary going in and not knowing what to expect.

With me they did not have me empty my bladder. They needed the blatter completely full for a couple reasons one to hold the bladder in a certain position and in doing so the uterus is held into the rught position for taking the pictures. another reason they did inflate the blatter is so that the bladder is not mistaken for the uterus, on the ultrasounds I had both the uterus and the blatter just appeared as a gray black balloon with a hollow middle.

6 to 8 inches in circumference!!! Are you kidding me? Are penises really that gigantic? Yikes! How in the world does that fit into a vagina comfortably?

When you write Pdoc, do you mean your primary care physician? Pdoc is usually short form for psychiatrist and I don't know that psychiatrists do physicals. I mean, I suppose they could in theory do a physical, but that is really not what they do.

Update on Pdoc Visit (today)

think thats shocking - an average babys head is between 13 and 18 inches and the shoulders are even biggermeasuring from shoulder to shoulder. Bill Cosby doesnt say birth is like squeezing a watermellon out of a hole the size of a golf ball for nothing. LOL

when measuring the tape measure wraps around not across the tip.

And yea it fits comfortably when you have two consenting adults.

From talksexwithsue.com -

a recent survey in the U.S. found that men believe that the average size of an erect penis is 10 inches. Women believe it's 4 inches.

Anatomically, a normal penis is 3-5 inches non-erect; 5-7 inches fully erect.

I'm with Sept, maybe 6 inches, but 8? I don't know if I'd call that comfortable.

well considering I said -

6-8 meaning penis sizes 6, 7, or 8

and Sue Johanson on talksexwithsue.com says -

Anatomically, a normal penis is 3-5 inches non-erect; 5-7 inches fully erect.

meaning that includes sizes 3,4,and 5 for non erect and includes sizes 5, 6, and 7 when erect

either way your size of 6 is in all catagories.

As for 8 obviously I messed up when I said 8 not 7because that is what I thought Sue Johanson had said on her tv show.

When September suggested that I recheck my numbers I did that and now I am posting the correct numbers as they appear on the talksexwithsue.com website.

LENGTH maybe... but NOT around!! Update on Pdoc Visit (today)

No way!! Not unless you're talking about Godzilla or King Kong... and that's keeping in mind that apes are not well endowed in "circumference"! Update on Pdoc Visit (today)

Let's keep in mind that babies come from within and it's NEVER pleasurable!

I think your sources are wrong! Can you speak from experience??

No, you said INCHES. LOL I didn't know penises came in "sizes." Update on Pdoc Visit (today)

But then, I think the topic of this conversation is instruments, not penises. I've had these procedures done I am sure I don't remember anything THAT big! They'd have to cut to insert!

My present significant other is quite gifted. last night just for the H of it we pulled out the measuring tape to his embarrassment and laughter at this post and he may be a shorty in length at 4 and a half inches long but he is gifted around at 7 inches. My fist isn't 7" in circumferance.

The whole thing has gone way off topic, but it is a little humorous.

Sorry to be on-topic Update on Pdoc Visit (today) but just wanted to say good luck for the test next week. I would also agree with you maybe trying an exercise 'regime', and controlling the calories intake, if at all possible. The pills seem quite costly and this might either be a good complement or alternative. Good luck.

WOW!!! - I just got my Rx list out and the XENICAL in on the list with (PA) - Prior Approval..... I am going to call them Monday morning to see what I need to do to have this Rx covered - just think from $100 a month to $40 for 3 months.... once again WOW!!

BTW - my test will be done on Thursday.... so I will let you all know how it goes.
AND - for those that asked: My sinuses are still hurting, but hoping for better days after the antibiotics kicked in , maybe around the 4th or 5th day?

Good Morning.... I am leaving for my Echo Ultra Sound in about an hour..... wish me luck and say a prayer or two for me please.

I may be going to the walk in clinic after I done with the test, for the problem that I have been having with my sinuses and the mere touch of a pillow up against my head hurting was so bad this morning that I am now having intense pain in my right eye that will not go away (not even with a pain killer) and it has me worried.....
I was to call my doctor on Friday if the antibiotic and meds did not improve my head pain, but while I am there I think I will just let the walk in clinic take care of me today instead of waiting another day for a doctor apt to be made.

Wish ME Luck...
