Like I said, just a grumble until the painkillers kick in lol!!!
Normally I don't have any complaints about our health care system- I have never had a problem with any aspect of it. But I have a major gripe now!! Am due to get 2-3 teeth pulled next month (after suffering for 3-4 months already in severe pain and living on painkillers). Sometimes I can go a few days, or as it was the last 2 weeks, with no pain but this week has probably been the worst week yet. I tried yesterday to get an appt with my doc to discuss pain management strategies after the chemist told me the additional painkillers I have been taking are only 1/day. But I couldn't get an appt til next week Just Grumbling. To top it off I am dealing with both chn this weekend (the past 2 visits with my eldest who doesn't live with me has seen her go home a day early each time due to her violent behaviour towards my 2yo) and when I rang the urgent doc to find out the fees was told it would cost $70nz before a script, or $55nz with a subsidy card which I have. I know for a fact that even for ppl who have a decent amount coming in each week it sounds heaps (normal hours I pay $35 and still find that a lot) so how on earth are us LOW LOW LOW income ppl meant to afford after hours care??? Roll on Monday... and, dare I say it, the dentist appt lol!!!

stinks to be poor. Hope it improves. Pain will subside and life will look brighter.

Tks Just Grumbling. Pain got SO bad today I rang dr for an appt, but when I asked if I could get an account for the fee was told no. I am used to having no money- my ex will spend the last 5c in his pocket on lollies just to spend- but most places used to allow credit, especially doctors. I do not have a credit card or cheque book (a pain sometimes but in long run a great thing) so usually pay everything in cash anyway. Grrr, at least I am 24hrs closer to Monday lol.
