Mine are gone Sarah...lol...Got them out when I was five...I remember the ether they used back then...and also I got rheumatic fever at age 7 and my dad always blamed it on the fact that the infection didn't have my tonsils to go to so it went to my heart...who knows?

I still have mine! My mother had hers taken out when she was a kid, though, and my one sister should have had hers removed because they've given her so many problems over the years...

wow - interesting - I thought that everyone got their tonsils out. Or, at least that's what my mom told me when I had to get mine out at age 7!
I almost got held back from 1st grade because I missed so much school due to strep throat. Ugh.

I still have mine despite suffering continuing bouts of severe tonsilitis as a kid.
My son on the other hand, has never had tonsilitis - so his tonsils are still in too.
