I need ideas from folks on how to fall asleep when you are too tired to sleep. I put in an 18-hr day yesterday and you would think I would have passed right out when I laid down, but I hurt too much to sleep.
![]() It is 2 a.m. and the alarm is going off at 5:30, and I would like some sleep! -- but in addition to hurting, I can't shut my brain off, either. ![]() Candy |

Candy,
If I were your brain I wouldn't shut down right now either. You're in this major transition. I'm sure you did the hot bath thing, and yes, you probably should have some sleeping pills until things calm down a bit with your life. EJ |

Candy, EJ is right on. How about getting some valerian or such and trying that early in the night. Or, if you can take it with your medical condition, benedryl always works for me for a few days. Good luck.

Sleep is a necessity when in pain, and often elusive. I use valerian 1gm each night with my pain med. It take nearly an hour for the valerian to "work" well enough to sleep, andthen I take another pain med. WIth this routine I often get nearly 4 hours straight. Now, add the CD for delta brain wave (helps go past the beta chatter you mentioned) and then my T's words for calming and sleep... and there I am: asleep. This is the best thing (s) to work for me in the 20 years I've been working on this.
Keep trying: it's worth it.
