Yesterday, I finally went ahead with getting the Synvisc injections, I got the first round of injections in both knees...next Monday I get round two. I thought cortisone shots hurt...well, this really hurts. I actually screamed when the doc injected the stuff into my knee, synvisc is a gel-like substance that's why all the pain..but this is what I needed to stop the knee problem from getting worse.
Has anyone here had Synvisc done?

No, and from what you say, I hope I never do!

I guess it being a gel, it's from the pressure of it that hurts? Or is it a combo of stuff?

This will lubricate the joints I suspect, making it better in the long run?

How many rounds do you have to do kim???

Two more rounds...but I would rather do Synvisc than someday ending up having to have knee replacement surgery.

Two days before the second round. It has made somewhat of a difference already...I have noticed better range of motion.

Got round two of synvisc done yesterday. Right now I'm hurting. And sadly, my roommate doesn't get that I'm hurting.

Why does it hurt bad for three days after the shot? But the pain does go away. And my staff does not like that I use prescription pain meds to deal with post-injection pain..they say 'oh take some Aleve' (or some other stuff that doesn't work)'the prescription stuff might affect your mood' like being in pain doesn't 'affect' my mood..jeez! I need someone to listen and not judge.
