Bran can be good for you but you should drink lots of water so that it doesn't gum up the works.
The best thing I found for my IBS was to go back to basics and eat a bland diet until the pain and bloating and loo running is over. Then you can introduce other foods back into your diet slowly. Stay away from fatty, fried foods and from breads/cereals. Fizzy drinks and caffeine are a no no as well. Hope you feel better soon! |

I use a heating pad when mine acts up. It seems to help the cramping.

I feel for you; I'm lactose sensitive and unless I take a Lactaid pill when I'm eating dishes with a lot of cheese in them, drink/use milk that's lactose-free, etc. I have trouble. Interesting article:

I too have IBS and take a pill called Bentyl to help with the gut pain... something to talk to your doctor about as it is prescribed.

IBS needs to go and die in a gutter. It make too many peoples lives miserable! (Mine included).
If you have a doctor, they might be able to help as far as prescription meds. Mine wasn't good at all for that. Or good for anything really. I was on Bentyl a little bit, and it did help with the pain, but the problem is, it causes constipation, and I have ibs-c. So if you don't have ibs-c (constipation) then I might recommend it. ![]() Also, these help a lot. Specifically made for ibs, they are amazing. And taste great too! I had this issue for years! What worked for me in the end and cured me is this:
![]() I purchased about 8 bottles at WalMart for only 1.50 each. I took like 8 spoonfuls before bed and with some walking each day my IBS went away completely. |
