Came down with the flu today and have no idea how to get better. This flu already surpasses all the other flu's I've ever had.

Does anyone have any home remedies?

Chicken soup - it really does work.

Rest...Tylenol (as directed on bottle if you are allowed to take it) this will keep your fever down...soups and tea with honey.
Get well soon.

It's best not to try to reduce your fever unless it's rather high; fever actually helps your body kill the virus. Make sure you stay hydrated with water, broth, juice, whatever sounds good to you.

Also, a home remedy I learned that helped a bit--when you go to bed, lie with your head to the side. Protect your pillow with an old towel. Take one capful of 3% hydrogen peroxide (the kind you can get at the drugstore) and put it in your accessible ear. You will hear/feel the bubbling for a while. It may tickle a bit, but it doesn't hurt. Once that stops, put a towel over that ear and tip your head so the peroxide drains out. Repeat with the other ear. You can also gargle with peroxide/water mixture as directed on the peroxide bottle. It really does help, and doesn't taste unpleasant. I actually did this up to 3x/day.

There are a few different types of flu. What symptoms are you having?
How are you feeling today?

Thanks everyone for their help! The peroxide idea seemed scary! But I have been staying hydrated as much as possible.

Today, I am just extremely congested. My fever has passed, but as night comes on my head feels heavier and heavier.

If you have nasal or sinus congestion, have you tried a neti pot, or some kind of saline sinus rinse? It can help quite a bit. And the warm salt water gargle does help with sore throat, or post nasal drip at the back of the throat. Hope you can sleep, and feel better soon.

Glad you are feeling better and recovering. Staying hydrated when you have a fever can be hard. It sounds like you are in the home stretch and needing plenty of rest and fluids and some decongestant for your head. Maybe also saline spray for the sinuses?
