Lately my neck has been hurrting more than normal. My mom has always had this large hump on her neck in the back and I thought it was just an aging thing. But lately i've been feeling the same bone in the back of my neck start to poke out.

I'm really discouraged cause I researched it and they call it dowagers hump... and I don't wanna get it.. Like really bad.. but I feel like there's nothing I can do..

I have been having trouble with my neck too. No kidding. About 2 months ago I started feeling pain in my neck. I figured I just pulled a muscle. Then the pain started shooting down my arm, and into my fingers. Now I think it is more serious than I thought before.
That Dowagers Hump I have never heard of, but I guess what I have could be like that. I see my doctor in a couple of weeks. I will get a referral for a Orthopedic doctor.
Don't worry about it too much Mysterygirl202.

Sincerely,

Piraeus

I can understand your concern and something you should talk with your doctor about as there can be underlying illness causing it and risks associated with it over time. The good news is that there a treatment options to help it if that is what it turns out to be. This link might be helpful and informative with a definition, causes, risks, testing for it, and treatment options:

I have heard that term and know what you are talking about. Maybe there is an hereditary component, but I always thought it might be related to osteoarthritis or even osteoparosis.

Maybe this site will help, too: http://healthosphere.com/dowagers-hu...es-prevention/
