Yogurt works really well, and jello is soft enough that you can swallow it without having to chew. And if you nuke ice cream for 10 seconds or so, it gets melty enough to eat. But I'm with you -- if I never see mashed potatoes again, it will be too soon. major dental When I was in the hospital and had a horrible throat infection and mouth ulcers, I was on the baby food diet (everything, and I do mean everything, pureed) for several weeks. I lost 23 pounds! Not the diet I'd recommend, though. major dental

I hope you feel better soon!

Love, Candy

Hope your gums toughen up quick :-) My husband had all his teeth removed 3-4 years ago for dentures. He can eat almost anything besides steak/meat without them now :-)

How about cottage cheese and yogurt? Ground beef in a sauce/gravy? Bananas or fruit smoothies. I make lots of things in the crock pot that "fall apart" enough for my husband to eat them without his dentures. I love things like oatmeal or cream of wheat.

That happens for awhile, the raw/irritating. My husband's dentist/doctor told him it would be a couple months before he could "judge." He didn't try to wear them 24/7, took them out when they started irritating at first. It was awhile before he wore them other than at work. He still has them out at home (and sometimes forgets to put them in when we go out :-)

I'm so sorry for the ouchies. Eeeeeeek!!!!!

I hope your mouth heals soon.

Hugs,

PS. Tomato or potato soup might taste good and it would be easy to eat.
