I usually don't post here, so please be nice?
Well, I have always had a lot of body hair. But, lately, I've noticed the hair on my back has gotten thicker and more noticeable. It's not all over my back, just a patch that's really thick. I also have body hair on my stomach, and it's not the typical "peach fuzz" that most women have, it's actual hair that I can shave off with a razor. My parents think it's just genetics. I'm biracial and they think it could be just hereditary. But I'm unsure. I've always had this hair, but it's getting more noticable in my opinion. I haven't noticed it before until recently. It's bugging the hell out of me and I want to know why it's there and what I can do to get rid of it. Since I've had the hair for most of my life, could this just be genetics? I've googled the cause of excessive body hair for females and a lot of results came up like PCOS, or hypothyroidism. I don't think I have hypothyrodism as I've had my blood checked for medication issues plenty of times and I'd think they'd also check for that and no abnormalities came back. I have had some other symptoms of PCOS, but not one of the most important which is lack of periods. Is this issue big enough that I can go to the doctor to have it checked out? Or should I just go with the "genetics" reason? Does anyone else have issues with excessive body hair? |

I think any time you are concerned about something a trip to your primary doc is warranted.
I had an ex who had a patch of hair on her back. Hers was a medication side effect. |
