Lately it seems like one of my triggers for anxiety is when it is really hot outside. I calm down again when im inside with the fan blowing. Can someone explain, it just seems really odd. I did some research and I think I have mild adrenal fatigue, is this related, and how?

Well, you know, it is really hot outside, especially in Arizona, hotter than usual. It could be that your body is trying to protect you from heat prostration by sending you inside. It really is hotter than normal this year.
But it could also be a hyper-active thyroid gland. Heat intolerance and anxiety are classic symptoms of excess thyroid hormone in the body. If you're middle-age, it could be related to the change of life. Or it could even be all down to anxiety because anxiety does cause the adrenal glands to put out all sorts of stress hormones. But the easiest thing to check medically is your thyroid gland. Next time you see your primary ask to be tested. It could make a big difference in how you feel. Best of luck to you ... and stay inside. I've seen some of the weather reports for Arizona. 117 degrees! It's too hot where I live and we're 20 degrees cooler than you. Take Care! ![]() |

It's much warmer here than I'm used to, we had temps that I haven't experienced naturally my entire life. And it makes me anxious. I don't know if my body interprets the heat as I cannot breathe right, but I feel like the skies are falling. I was going into a regular panic attack but could halt it because I could turn on the fan. Then the anxiety went away.
