I have about two hours left before my procedure. The prep has not been fun at all. Those of you who've been there know what I mean.

The worst part is that I'm a smoker, and for some reason I'm not allowed to smoke for four hours before the procedure. It's only been two hours, and the nicotine leaving my system is REALLY ramping up my anxiety.

I hate this!

I have heard how horrible it is but I am so happy you are doing it. I lost a close friend to colon cancer this year and seeing her so sick was horrible. Colonscopies are embarrassing and uncomfortable but such an easy way to take care of yourself!

It will be ok. <3

This will be so much easier than colon cancer surgery, like my husband just went through! Hang in there, there's plenty of time to smoke. I'm a long time smoker and managed to quit, so I know what you are going through. Big hug!

Thanks, guys! I've only got 45 minutes now. I've always heard the prep is worse than the procedure, and so is cancer!

Yup, the procedure itself is nothing - you fall asleep and wake up and it's over. No pain, etc.

It's the night before that sucks.

Completely agree. I had to drink gallons of a liquid. But the scope itself was nothing.

I have had it before, i dont remember the prep being TOO bad.(i don't smoke) It was like a cleanse. And it was a day off from work!!!!!!
My mom recently had one and i don't recall them saying she cant smoke.

Best of luck. Just know it WILL be over and okay. Good luck

I am in the hospital for a heart issue and they don't let me have coffee for days so I have the horrible headache continuously.

My 57-year-old boyfriend still hasn't had one. He's afraid to, so I hope my experience helps him.

When my friend was dxd with stage 3 colon cancer it pushed a mutual friend to get long overdue one. They found several precancerous polyps. She had no idea of course. Her dad died of colon cancer but the fear kept her from going for so long. Now she says she will never skip! I have strong family history so I sill have to go for sure

It's very scary, and such a simple procedure. Too bad they can't make the prep a little more pleasant!
