I have suffered from severe depression pretty much forever. I've attemped suicide a few times, and come close to it many, many times. I also have thyroid problems, which are finally being treated.

In may of this year, I started Cytomel (T3) for my thyroid, and upped my dose in August. My depression is GONE! Many people do not know that depression is a symptom of a disfunctional thyroid. If you have depression and thyroid troubles, please speak to your Pdoc, and ask him to check your levels of
FREE T3.

If they are low, supplementing with T3 just might also cure your depression!!

I've been thinking about that. Unfortunately my primary care doctor is incompetent and doesn't listen to me. So glad to hear it worked!

That is great. In my opinion that is the first thing that should be checked by a competent pdoc or GP. Mine has been checked several times.

I'm surprised it took them so long. Like zinco I've had my thyroid checked several times. It was one of the first things a doctor looked at when I mentioned depression.

I'm glad you're finally feeling better.

Agreed!

I cringe to think of practitioners who don't consider organic causes of mental health symptoms
