Already bad enough I got others giving me a hard time over any medical/pstch treatment - but doctors seem to not listen either (and at times seem to quite intentionally just flatly ignore it).
Now I have no REAL issue with drigs in themselves - but I do INSIST on a few things: 1.) DO NOT break anything period (violation of that will cause discontinued use without any contact first!). 2.) It MUST work and do a COMPLETE job (ie. pain medication that reduces pain, but dose not REMOVE it, keep it) 3.) If simply using it is going to mean being watched any closer than not using it - you guessed it - keep that one too! 4.) Nothing that is going to be a hassle to get at any time - if I could be out and no refills left at 11:59pm Christmas eve [my pharmacy is 24/7/365] and still be able to have it by 1:00am Christmas day fine - otherwise, forget that one as well. Basically, anything that's got any more to it than something OTC forget it is were that leads you I beleive - but I want NO hastle, and work completely without breaking anything - if you can't than leave it alone - simple as that! Also - one final thing: Just because you find something that works, and meets all that - it's STILL not a finished job. No medication was being used before there was a problem, it's not completed work until working fine without the medication - if it's fine but only with medication - that's only a half finished job. |

The good thing is, no one can force you to take meds. The bad thing is, meds react differently for everyone. Its hard to predict the effect it will have. But I am sorry you are struggling and I understand your rant. I'm not a med taker myself for some of the reasons you listed above.

Yah, but - besides all that there are times when things are blatantly the EXACT oposite of what I made clear I was looking for.
I don't want to get too graphic - but - one perfect example (medical issue). I have always had issues with urinary incontinence. Recently (within the past 5 years) that has turned in to not just a leaking issue, but a retention one as well. Point blank said several times - I don't care about the leaking - that IS "normal" for me and not particularly dangerous. Retention on the other hand is new (NOT normal for me) and could amoung other things cause kidney damage. HOWEVER, the only things that have been tried with that just made the retention worst, and broke other things. AND that was NOT a maybe thing - I looked it up after being highly dissatisfied with it - and all those drugs - that's what they do, it's a known fact. BECAUSE they are DESIGNED to hold urine in (for a leaking issue) - but I said I don't care about that - I want it to drain more fully and eventually ELIMINATE needing to use a catheter - so again - the EXACT opposite I was looking for. ONE of those drugs actually did get more out - but still not enough to not need to cath AT ALL, AND it cause impotence and increased pancreas pain -so that would not do either! And there are plenty of other similar issues. Sometimes things even get done non-standard ways because of laws. Like remove a projectile myself wile reading a how-to web-site and no experience at all, using my none-dominate hand, with tools not made for it - all because if I asked an ER to do it - they would have basically forced me to talk to the police - and I WAS NOT going to allow that - so take a chance with dirty tools not meant for it instead - that way, if it comes down to it, they treat an infection, but not the wound itself - and thus avoid that chance.... |
