My average is 117/76 ish. When i've been active its around 120/80. And when i'm anxious it hits the upper 130's. With the exception of when i'm anxious I have pretty good bp.

Lately i've been excessively tired and having headaches so i've checked my blood pressure a few times the last few days and it's been running 106/64 or 107/65.

Tonight, when I started to have the headache again it is 109/59.

I m not an athlete by far. I don t exercise at all and am overweight but not obese. (5 5" and 168 lbs. Literally everyone say that I don t look what I weigh though.)

I know its not extremely low and if I were active I could understand that, but i'm not. Is this on the lower end of normal for a non active overweight person?

Edited to add: I just took it again and it is 97/63

An accurate blood pressure needs to be taken after you have sat quietly for 10 minutes. I have a client that walks from the porch to her bedroom and her bp usually goes up 20 points.
Thanks for this!

Hi hi

I was sitting down watching tv when I started to feel that way, and with the exception of reaching over to grab the machine I wasn't doing much. Frankly haven't had much energy to do much which is also why i was slightly concerned. I could be just super healthy though lol which I am okay with if i didn't have the nausea and headache and just weird feeling that hit me occasionally. Also, the first time I noticed it was 106/64 was at work after being active so I imagine if I had been sitting still it may have been lower.

My blood pressure is about 90/60 or just a bit higher. That is my normal. What else is going on in your life that might make it drop? Do you have adrenal problems or light headedness?
Thanks for this!

I would keep a record of your blood pressure and your symptoms for 2-4 weeks then see a doctor. (Or you could see a doctor first.) On second thought, I'd see a doctor first. Doctors can be weird if they think you are "self-monitoring".

There's something called POTS, which you can have to a greater or lesser degree, and it can cause lots of fatigue and other unpleasant symptoms.

Some people just have low blood pressure and don't notice any symptoms from it. If you're having symptoms, better to see a doctor.
Thanks for this!

Your mean blood pressure (MAP) needs to be at least 60. To calculate your MAP add your systolic BP and two times your diastolic BP and then divide that by three. So by this method you are okay.

But as with many health guidelines there are people who have different needs so if you are having symptoms you should see a health professional.

Thanks guys. T has pointed out that I haven't been eating much too so who knows. I will keep a record and unless I have more symptoms (none today) won't stress over it. I'm used to the consistency of my 117/75ish lol. I giess the change had my radar up. Thanks again!

If you haven't been drinking enough water that will affect your BP. Please check in with your doctor to get some advice.

Blood pressure problems don't really have symptoms other than fainting if it is too low or a very sudden, very intense/specific headache if it is life threateningly high. If you have been feeling tired, I would go to your GP and get it checked out, there are about a zillion things that could be causing that symptom and it might take blood tests and a little sleuthing by you and your doctor to figure out which is most likely.

In short, no. Most cardiologists will say, that they'll take it as low as it'll go until you become symptomatic, i.e. dizzy when you stand up, lightheaded, nauseous etc, so as long as you're not having symptoms, you're fine. Try drinking some water, you may be slightly dehydrated. My BP routinely runs in the mid 80's/40's without issue.

It's a common misconception that blood pressure problems are not symptomatic, and it may be the case for many people. But the truth is, symptoms often do occur and they can be varied.

Fatigue and exercise intolerance can be caused by high or low blood pressure.
High blood pressure can also cause chest pain or blurred vision.

Take it at the same time everyday, sitting, same arm, same routine, look for symptoms that are different than now, log your foods and drinks, meds, recheck BP machine for consistency, just if it keeps happening for a long time it's an issue. Safety because of dizziness is a concern. You already have your baseline and are looking for precautions, that's great
