I need a mouth transplant!! I had an emergency root canal on Monday and will have the real thing in two weeks. The tooth is once again tender though not aching as much as before. But that's not really the problem. I have periodontitis and have lost a significant amount of gum on my front bottom teeth. The bone is showing. This is extremely tender and irritable. I am constantly aware of it and running my tongue across it. Plus, I keep getting ulcers / sores on my tongue. They hurt like anything but do you think I can leave them alone?
There must be some sort of deadening gel or something that I can rub on my gums. Will also ask my dentist but that is almost 2 weeks away. Any ideas on what I can do? I think I need to start a multi-vitamin for the sores on my tongue. (Recently stopped drinking). Could just be a lowered immune system. Or something.

There is a deadening gel. Usually its sold for canker sores? It looks like red iodine only in a gel.
