Hi!
I've been trying to eat healthier and improve my lifestyle in general especially on the alimentation/exercise departement. I've been drinking green tea non stop ( I usually carry a bottle of cold drink tea during the day and sometimes I make myself a hot one at night). I drink at least 2 liters a day. I also changed my routine and eat either fresh juice with veggies and fruits (That I myself make with the juicer) or I'd have a smoothie in the morning. I also have lots of green veggies, carrots and legumes. I try to keep the carbs part in the morning or at lunch ( Whole wheat toasts and egg whites in the morning or sweet potatoes or brown rice for lunch). I'll also have something lighter for dinner but I NEVER felt hungry since I started this new..lifestyle. ![]() I thought eating this way would make me feel better? I overall have more energy and sleep better at night but is all this normal? Thanks in advance!! ![]() |

How many grams of fiber per day were you eating before you started eating this way? They usually advise to increase fiber slowly. Also are you getting more than 25 to 30 grams per day of fiber now? How much protein are you getting? Fat grams? How are you deciding what to eat? From a book or from your doctor or a registered nutritionist?

It took me a few years of really trying to finally become regular, so i kinda have had the opposite problem! I track my food sometimes on sparkpeople.com and that figures out all the grams of everything, altho i have also done the math by hand. One time a nutritionist told me to quit obsessing so much and just eat! Impossible to please people.

You might consider if the acid reflux is really that. I saw one doctor who told me to take anti acids, which did not help at all; in fact, I found myself unable to eat much at all, and it was all bland. The next doctor said the problem wasn't too much acid, it was too little. He had me stop the anti acids and start drinking apple cider vinegar in the morning. Problem solved.
I only mention that because some things aren't always what they seem. It's great that you have more energy. |

It might be all the green tea you're drinking that's causing the heartburn - green tea can do that. It could be the juicing or just too much insoluble fibre causing the pooping. I'm not a dietician, just speaking from personal experience.
You could try having some oatmeal with your fruit in the morning, instead of the smoothies or juices, and drink less green tea. |
