I am 24 hours post cataract surgery and already drove one son to work and another to school, WITHOUT GLASSES!

I feel like the bionic woman. The Bionic Woman-After the Surgery

I have a follow up this morning with the eye doctor, but I am so pleased.

The surgery itself was a bunt. I took ativan before going to the hospital, so I was not so nervous. Anxiety broke through a tiny bit when they were prepping me (you know, everyone touching you at once, IV in one arm, blood pressure cuff on the other someone putting drops in my eye, etc. But all in all it went very smoothly.

After negotiating with many nurses, anesthesiologist and my eye doctor, I was able to wear my IPOD into surgery. I had one of my Health Journeys relaxation guided imagery rcordings on. It was perfect. I only had one earphone in so doc could talk to me and I would haer him, (although I left him my hearing impaired hear!) They knocked me out for 3-4 minutes while doc gave an injection in my eyelid and then I was sort of half in and half snoozing for the remainder of the surgery. I didn't feel anything, even though I was aware of goings on.

After surgery I slept for about a half hour in the recovery room then had some tea and went home. Simply amazing.

The only fallout is that I appear to have a bit of a shiner under my eye; and, my husband lost my engagement ring! I had given him my rings to hold while in surgery. Honestly, he feels worse than I do and is beside himself. I guess he'll just have to buy me a ring.

Glad to hear it went well. My mom is going back to the doctor today as soon as she gets some pants on LOL. When she pulled off her patch last night some of her eyebrow came off to. Free wax job LOL.

I am really glad to hear it went well and am sorry your hubby lost your engagement ring. Tell him you want a bigger one now LOL.
