So I finally got up the nerve to find and set an appt to see an orthopedic surgeon to get a real dx on my left elbow, wrist, and hand. Its nov 24 at 2. And I am nervous as all get out! The morning stiffness in my hand is unbearable for a few hours. I dont wanna know what the pain my arm and wrist would be like without the lyrica pcp put me on.

Im crazy nervous! Ugh!

Got a list of when the symptoms started. Including the fairly new joint pain in wrists/hands/fingers/ankles/and sometimes toes. Ankle stiffness is terrible in the morning. When I first get up i waddle like a duck for 10-15 minutes.
13 days til orthopedic surgeon. Tho questioning whether he'll be able to help. My mom seems to think he'll truly help me find what is going on.

Seeing ortho this tues instead of on the following tues. Mom pulled some strings to get me in a week earlier. I'm constantly in pain and missing work because of it if it's too bad. Might be calling in today but we'll see.

Still suspect carpal tunnel. Need to get a splint from medical supply store to wear at night. See him again in a month possibly further testing depending on splint and medicine. This dx brings no good answers for work.

With your symptoms have you considered seeing a Rheumatologist?
Some lab work & X-rays might give you a better idea of what's going on.
Hope you feel better soon.

Well, he did x-rays of my left wrist and it was normal. What kind of blood tests would a rheumatologist do? I did tell him my mom had rheumatoid arthritis.

Sorry so long in reply.
Blood work, that I can remember...
CBC, CRP, Sed rate, AnA, antibodies testing, thyroid function, RA factor, some sort of genetic testing for hereditary markers associated with auto-immune disorders, maybe liver & kidney function. There's probably more but you only have to be stuck once then it may be weeks before you get results, a dx & some kind of meds/treatment program.
This was my experience anyway, hope it helped.
May relief come your way.

Had the test for carpal tunnel today. Will find out the results january 12 when i go back to the orthopedic surgeon. Wonder what happens if it's not carpal tunnel? Hmmm...maybe we wont have to deal with that.
