I had my entire thyroid removed last week. I had one large nodule and several small nodules scattered in the left, front and right part of the thyroid.

How long does it take to get the pathology results back from my nodules? The doc's office said we should have results in one week. But when I went to my weekly follow up today, I was told the results weren't back yet.

I didn't think to ask them how much longer it might be.

How long did it take to find out if your nodules were benign, or not?

One week sounds about right to me, precarious. I had a colonoscopy a few months back & I just received a letter in the mail summarizing the findings. Good luck!

I also had multiple nodules on both sides and my thyroid removed. It's been 17 years for me, but I believe I found out at the follow-up visit. That was also at a week post-op. I think the length of waiting is really dependent on the lab(how busy they are and the size of staff). To ease your mind--a large majority of the time they are benign.
