I am in this age range(17-20) so idk if that makes this not as bad. But i am terrified of going back to sleep tonight... yes it is only 10:17am right now so i won't go back to bed until like 12am ish... but i woke up at 2am with chest pain in my left side it happened for a few mins i am scared i don't even eat meat or bad things(vegetarian) so idk what it is i admit i have not been drinking much water or anything lately(i keep forgetting) don't know if that caused it i am going to the doctor right now to get it checked. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi there,

I am 25 years old. A couple of years back in the middle of one random night, I got chest pains so bad that I was brought to my knees. It was super intense and I thought for sure something awful was happening. That morning I went to the ER and had blood tests and chest x-rays done, nothing abnormal showed up and I haven't had a chest pain experience like that since. It is safest to get it checked out to be sure it's not something serious, but hopefully it is like my case and was a one night fluke. Either way it's a frightening experience and I'm sorry you had to go through that.

Have you gotten in to see your doctor?

Random chest pains could be a pulled muscle in your chest, a muscle spasm... but I doubt it's something serious like a heart problem if it's only happened once. I had bad chest pains for days and was diagnosed with GERD - basically bad acid reflux.
