Hi Guy`s ,

I have talked with my doctor about this and he says , it`s just stress , your EKG is normal.

OK , I now the Ventricular Tachycardia is not going to kill me , but it is still a pain to deal with ( not real pain VCT does not hurt , unless you start throwing to many PVC`s and that could lead to a heart attack ).

Like today , running around , trying to organize the house , had pizza for lunch , laid down to get some rest , and then my heart starts going crazy , no pain , just beating fast , I took my medication for it , only this time it seemed to take forever to slow down to sinus rhythm.

I am not over weight , in June I had my last check up and the nurse told me I have the BP of a twenty year old , I am 64 , so thats fine , doc says heart is a-ok , no signs of anything abnormal.

I felt like saying , I know that , I feel fine , it`s just that sometimes my heart goes nuts !!

I really don`t know any other way to explain it , but , no harmful pathology , not doing bad drugs , I don`t smoke , I do drink , but only a beer or 2 or a shot of bourbon or scotch ( single malt ). I never wake up with a hang over.

Any ideas other than just plain old stress ?

Thanks guys , all replies are welcome , TY in advance

Later

Well... I don't know. I'm 69 & I have something akin to this. (I haven't seen a doctor about it. So I don't have a formal diagnosis for it.) But it sort-of feels like I have a chipmunk rustling around in my chest! It's some sort of arrhythmia I would guess.

In my particular case, I've lived with an ocean liner's load of stress all of my life. And I presume that is the reason I have developed the problem I have. (I suppose it could also be genetic.) Actually I'm kind-of surprised I haven't had a heart attack before this. But, like you, I'm not over weight. I've never smoked. And I don't drink at all either anymore... haven't for quite a few years now. I also get a bit of daily exercise.

So I guess I can't really offer anything with regard to what might be causing your Tachycardia. But I can relate to what you're experiencing. My best wishes to you...

Hi ,

Thanks for your reply , sorry to hear that you know what I mean , if you know what I mean

As a general rule , tachycardia is more of an annoyance than anything else , I have no doubt it is brought on by stress , like you , I have my fair share

I have been trying to sell some on eBay , but I haven`t had any bids yet !! LOL

Take care , be well , thanks again

Hi G ,

Thanks for the reply , I will talk to my doc about that , my late dad took it , small white pill.

My doc says it`s just stress , and this very minute my heartbeat is completely normal , and has been all day and most of yesterday , it was Thurs. afternoon it stated bugging me.

It takes me a couple of days to recover from eating pizza. It might just be the salt in it more than anything. Sodium and potassium have to be kept in balance or else arhythmia (sp) can result - ie a dead battery! You need balanced positive and negative charges, eg salt and oranges.

Im 65 and id be dead without my heart meds, even before i got this fat, which i think they contributed to, but oh well.
Thanks for this!

What about Magnesium? If you have a heart attack one of the first things they give you afterward is a magnesium drip because it is so helpful to the heart's rhythm.

Also, dehydration?
Thanks for this!
