Hi everybody. Hope this is the right spot for this, it seems to be?
I've mentioned to my dentist a few times that one of my upper molar teeth is bothering me. It feels as if it could have a cavity- it's sensitive to cold and it just generally hurts (throbbing sort of pain) sometimes? It hurts right in the center like it would if there was a cavity. If I feel it with my tongue it feels different from my other teeth, (rough sort of?) but my dentist has looked at it multiple times and they've said nothing is wrong. It's not very bad pain at all, moreso just an annoyance, but I have major anxiety about my teeth. This has been going on for probably over a year and I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Thanks |

Did you have an x-ray? reason why I ask is that I had something similar so when my dentist did an x-ray I needed a root canal.

Yes, I did. Nothing suspicious showed up on it. And during multiple dental cleanings and general checkups I've been told nothing is wrong.

Do you clench or grind your teeth at any time, including sleep?

I clench my teeth when the tooth is bothering me. (I have an irrational fear that it's going to fall out as soon as there's any pain...) As far as I know I don't clench or grind my teeth in my sleep though. It's only the one tooth that hurts as well, not any others.

I had zero pain in one of mine and parts of it fell out while running, and I was in a very flat surface indoor and open mouthed to gulp in air. Clenching it will do the opposite of hold it in because clenching puts stress on the bonds that keeps it in.
