I'm going to call them today to see if I cancel my glasses order or change it because I wore my contacts yesterday and I can't see my texts or anything it's awful. I have to really deal with the fact I need bifocals and I better have them in my glasses or I won't be able to wear them. I need to read at work. I so hope I can change my order, I'm really nervous about it.

Edited: So relieved I called just have to come in for additional measurements so I'll do that after work.

I still have pretty good eyesight (for an elderly gentleman anyway.) I have progressive lenses & I hardly ever even notice that they're anything but plain old glasses.

I started using my old non bifocal pair. They are a pain reading things at work and I cannot stand walking down the stairs with them. The bifocal makes going down the stairs blurry. Um?

I have progressive lenses, too. All the eyesight changes that come with mid-life are very frustrating, but eventually it all seems to work out okay. Takes patience and a willingness to do a lot of adjusting. And working with your optometrist.

Yep. I'm cautious when I go down stairs and I hold the handrail.

I'm not used to needing to bend my head down to see. The focal part is in my line of vision for how I walk. I go up and down many flights of stairs, each day. I don't know yet how these will work out for me in a most practical sense. I tend to sometimes lightly graze banisters, but not often.

I need the distance part, no doubt.
I need to get back to that office, anyways, as one of my sons needs to refit his own new frames. These are only a couple of weeks new to me, as well.

Well, it takes getting used to, but you will.

Maybe. I've known of people in my life to have 2 different pairs of glasses. If my eyes gaze down to walk and the bifocal clouds that line of vision down the stairs or driving the light refracts on that line, these are things that I may very well advocate for myself and say that it's not for me.

I had a horrible time adjusting to progressive glasses. They made me sick and dizzy. It seemed like things were moving in my peripheral vision and it creeped me out.

However, I just got progressive contacts and they are remarkably better than the glasses. I wish I'd gotten them years ago. It did take some trial and error to find a pair that worked for me, but the eye doctor was patient and now I can read a menu again. I still use cheater glasses on top of the contacts for close craft work, but I can read fine without them.

I am getting used to progressive lenses. It takes some time. They are also non-glare.

That and dental work....ughh! Lol!
Am feeling old lately.
