This has been going on for quite a while now and it’s really becoming more and more of a concern and problem, so I was hoping somebody might possibly be able to tell why it happens and what's going on...
I can’t really identify and pinpoint if it’s my thigh or maybe the outer pelvis/hip area, because sometimes it seems like it’s the very top part of my thigh, sometimes it seems like it’s more in my outer hip area, and sometimes it even feels like it could be in the rear area right under the left side of my lower back. I get this cramp very easily, from moving the wrong way when sitting or laying down, or it always happens if I bring my knees up towards my chest when laying down, and the only way to stop it is if I straighten my leg out completely once it starts. I do have 4 fractured vertebrae and disfigured spine curvature (so my posture is also very poor) due to seizures if that could somehow have something to do with it, and I also tend to sleep on that side of my body most of the time, but I’m just not sure what could be causing it since it really just appeared out of nowhere one day…

I think, realistically, this is something you need to have evaluated by medical professionals. But you mentioned you have 4 fractured vertebrae & a disfigured spine curvature. So I'm going to leap to the conclusion what's going on is that one or more of your fractured vertebrae is impinging on some of the nerves in your low back.
I have one fractured vertebrae in my low back which impinges on the sciatic nerve. So I have what is typically referred to as sciatica primarily down my left leg but also, to some extent, down the right leg as well. (Actually it's not as bad as it used to be. Over the years I've walked a lot. And it has helped.) And, you're correct, the pain does tend to move around a bit which can make whatever's going on seem quite confusing. Anyway... that's my non-professional thinking, for what it's worth, with regard to what may be going on with you. Please see your doctor. ![]() |
