Hey everyone. I have been having this issue that only started yesterday where I have this frequent urge to urinate and I will continue to have this urge even after I pee.

I have no burning painful sensation or itchiness so it can't be an STD or a UTI. It also can't be diabetes because the amount of pee that comes out isn't in large amounts. And if I had anything like bladder stones I would be in much more internal physical pain than I now. So the only conclusion I have is that I have suddenly developed Overactive Bladder Syndrome overnight just like that!

If this is the case then I am terrified that living a normal life has only gotten 10x harder!! As if having a few mental health issues wasn't bad enough!!! And on top of this I am only 28!!

The constant urge to urinate isn't THAT strong, but it is still quite persisting and significant to the point where I am beginning to constantly be aware of my bladder.

Can Overactive Bladder Symptom really develop overnight out of nowhere?

Hi Danni ☺

I'm no doctor but I've been a woman all my life lol

My first guess would be UTI. If it is one starting I'd drink lots of water or cranberry juice.

I would think if it's OAB it doesn't start suddenly, I could be wrong. If it is there are several remedies for it.

Your urinary urgency can be caused by different things. In any case, drinking lots of water is a good thing anytime.

I'd get to the doc if it lasts more than a couple days. I hope it's nothing serious.

If it were an UTI I would have more symptoms other than frequent urination, like burning sensation whilst peeing and itchiness. But I don’t seem to have any of those symptoms.

I have read where it can be a nervous habit. I have had this (and it was certainly not an UTI) however, sometimes I think the awareness plus getting stressed makes it worse. There are some tips online to break the habit. I think one was...like trying to lengthen the time between each trip to the bathroom. Distraction. No caffeine, of course. I also think I cut back on liquids during that time. This is the opposite of when you have an UTI when you should drink more water. I didn't need to go to the doctor. It went away on its own. PS I drink a lot of herbal iced tea and I found out that hibiscus tea can be a diuretic...so I also stopped drinking hibiscus tea at that time and it helped. Play detective a bit. Also...hot shower or bath for relaxation is good.

No, not necessarily. I have had plenty of UTI's in which my sole symptom was an urgent need to pee every few minutes.
