I had a killer headache yesterday so I stayed home from working and nursed my head. Today my headache is down to dull roar but I'm seeing things like a tunnel. I called my doc and he said oh its just a migrane take this. So far the med (Midrin) isn't helping Migranes.

Do any of you with migranes get the tunnel vision also?

I can't believe your MD said "just!" He obviously has never had one. Migranes
I haven't had tunnel vision with it. I do get auras and prodromes though.

A Neurosurgeon once told me this about treating Migraines...... Drink a 20 oz bottle of Mt. Dew at one setting - then rest in a quite room and you will feel better in no time.

... I have tried it and it works!!

Mt. Dew is loaded with caffeine. Any highly caffeinated item will help. A migraine is supposedly caused by the opening of the blood vessels to the brain (too much blood flow?) and so caffeine which restricts blood flow, narrowing blood vessels, can indeed help at times. I suppose the flavor and carbonation can also help with stomach upset that often comes with migraine.

I think the key is to catch a migraine as early as you can. It seems to have a life of it's own after the start. I take migraine med whenever I have a prodrome or aura appear, as I know the migraine is not far behind. This has helped me suffer much less.

Sky...what is a prodome? I've never heard of that before. I have had auras so know what those are like.

My head is better today and isn't pounding like it was yesterday and the day before. I am able to sit up and watch T.V. of course I've only been up a little bit today so far though. I am hoping to feel good enough to go out to dinner tonight with Rex.
