Rode I was told to apply and the pace people will make the magic happen. I am not currently N H material but they are great advocates for their patients. Think about you on your worst day. What can you do.. Its worth the try and you will get support. Here when I need Togo to the hosp they call and page the way so I am not sent home.

That's interesting how that works.

I thought their main thing was daycare for elders with dementia.

If the surgery can stop the bleeding, you have a lot of time left for making social connections. It will hurt for a week or two, but without anemia you will have your energy back and probably feel less depressed. I hope they are taking good care of you in the hospital this time.

They have it where i live, i just googled it. If you enroll in PACE, you disenroll in whatever medicare plus plan you have now.

But this is good info for me, as i am also aged and alone, and would like to remain living where i am.

Yeah I didn’t think it means you just go to nursing home, but who knows. I had to look it up too.

It’s good to know about all options

I need to look at it the way you describe.

The nurses on this unit have been very good to me. They are smart and caring.

I just got another unit of blood. I should go home tomorrow. Then I see a surgeon on Thurs.

That 3rd unit of blood boosted me to normal functioning. What a relief! I've been to a surgeon. He said, "Let's not rush into surgery." That sounded good to me. But I've gotten to where I can accept the surgery, if it is necessary. I really have evolved in my state of mind. Thanks for caring. It means a lot to me.

I've been busy with getting my place ship-shape, in case I do need to go in for surgery. If I do, I don't want to come home to a disorganized environment. I've been donating and junking clutter. Got rid of bags and bags of stuff. A professional organizer helped me. Having her help was a great investment. She carted off a ton of stuff, which is part of her service.

My new landlord is so nice. He installed a grab bar near my tub that I wanted and a nice, fancy hand-held shower nozzel that I picked out. After surgery, I would probably need to shower sitting down.

Tomorrow I see the upper GI surgeon. Next day, I go back to the colo-rectal surgeon. The bleeding must have stopped because my labs have steadily improved. (Also due to I/V iron infusions.) So I'm feeling perfectly normal . . . for now. Since 2016, I've been on this merry-go-round with recurring severe anemia. I figure I better get stuff done, while I have the strength. Maybe I won't relapse. Feeling this good, it's hard for me to get motivated to go thru major surgery. I will listen carefully to the two surgeons and give what they say a lot of thought. Maybe they will both advise watchful waiting.

The downside of waiting is that I might get another bad attack of diverticulitis and wind up with an abscess or perforation. Then I might get surgery on an emergent basis, which is riskier. Ideally, surgery is better done, while I'm feeling really well and strong and not anemic.

Thanks to all of you for the support and caring. I've gone through quite an emotional journey from wanting to bury my head in the sand to being able to accept whatever I need to have done.

I wish good health to all of you.

So pleased to read you’re feeling more able to tackle tasks Rose and that’s really good you’ve been decluttering and getting sorted (something I need to do too!). Thanks for updating us.
