I'm always hopeful, when I watch the weight loss shows on TV and see the people with asthma have their asthma go away once they start eating properly and lose weight.

I have adult-onset asthma that got a hold after I had a burst appendix that got treated wrong with the antibiotics such that I ended up having to have way too many for way too long.

Noverr and Huffnagle suspect that changes in gut microflora caused by widespread use of antibiotics and a modern high-fat, high-sugar, low-fiber diet could be responsible for a major increase, over the last 40 years, in cases of chronic asthma and allergies in Western industrialized countries.
