Maybe this belongs in ED, maybe in depression, I dunno.

I had the day from hell. My job possibly is on the line. I have zero savings, my car is making horrible noises, and I would be in deep caca without health insurance. What all this is making me want to do is eat myself stupid.

So, here's the question: When you want to call out for an XL pizza and eat it all by yourself in one sitting, and then go to the 24-hr grocery store and see what else you can find, what do you do? Because I am seriously jonesing for an XL pizza (extra cheese and pepperoni, thank you) and I don't know what I can fit into this stinking diet that will fulfill me. Anybody out there who's dealt with this crap for a long time who can help?

It has been mostly in the upper 90s, which (I think?) is fine. I just want to know what I can eat instead of an entire pizza before I hurry up and call out for one. diabetic diet

In the 90's is outstandingly, good blood sugar!

Pizza is one of my major craving type foods. What I have done in the past is to make myself a "mock pizza salad". Go to the store and get the toppings you like...a little sausauge and pepperoni, bell pepper, onion, olives, cheese, etc. Get some pre-made pizza sauce. DO NOT GET ANY CRUST TYPE THINGS (thats where the carbs are)!! When you get home, prepare everything as you would for a pizza...put the ingredientsw in a bowl, pour some pizza sauce on it like a salad dressing...heat the whole thing up in the microwave. WAHLAH...mock piza...not quite the same, but the combo of flavors may satisfy your craving. diabetic diet

Check these out:

The URL had me worried for a bit as I was afraid they were made from cats?

I tried this last night and it was pretty good! Except that of course, I forgot to pick up the pepperoni. So I had an extra cheese and sauce mock pizza instead. diabetic diet

Thanks for all the tips and websites, everyone! diabetic diet
