I don't know why or the cause. I use ice packs on my head at night just so I can maybe get some sleep. They are as painful as the occasional migraine I may get. Yeah, it feels like daily migraines. Yuk.

Any ideas, suggestions, solutions, palliative care suggestions? Gimme what you got!
Thanks,
Okie

Sometimes I think allergies, change of weather patterns ( fronts coming thru) can cause painful headaches like this. I know I get them. Also could you have a sinus infection? Extra stress going on in your life? Maybe trying to reduce this as much as possible will help? Otherwise get to the doctor and see what could be going on. Thats all I know to say to try to help. Hope it stops soon and you feel better sooner than later.

The book All in My Head by Paula Kamen is excellent, she has daily headaches too. She's had them for about 15 years.

Hi,

Unfortunately, it is possible to have daily migraines - I used to have them. I take a prescription medication now, Topamax, which has resolved the problem for me. It is an anti-seizure medication, and for people who get very frequent migraines, it can help them very much, either reducing the migraines greatly, or making them go away altogether. I get migraines only very rarely now, maybe once every 2-3 months. So it's been a miracle medication for me.

There are other reasons one can get regular headaches, too. If you drink caffeinated drinks a lot, they can contribute to headaches. You could try eliminating caffeine, which is a hard change for many people, but it can make a big difference. Another problem to watch out for is aspirin, and NSAID medications (Motrin, Aleve, etc.). If you take them too often, more than once a week, you can get rebound headaches....and get in a cycle where you have more frequent headaches. You can probably find information about this online, but if you've been treating your headaches with over-the-counter pain medications regularly, it can make them more frequent. It's a vicious cycle.

You might also talk with your doctor about this - they may have some ideas to share. One way or another, I hope you start feeling better soon!

Take care,
ErinBear
