Tonight I found out that my dad has Diabetes. It's not a big suprise, he was talking about seeing a nutritionist and by the way he was saying it, it just let it on. He also is a ...heavy person, and always has been, with some very serious blood pressure problems that he's had ever since he was a teen (and he was thin back then!) he says it's not bad though, he has to take a pill every day, and check his blood sugar too. I'm hoping that if I show him that I can drop off the excess weight, then he can try too (and of course, I'm doing this for me more then anyone else).
I don't know how he does it though, I know I couldn't take the pills (let's just say they don't last long in my stomache...) or check my blood sugar (reeaaally sensitive to pain and the like) |

Dealing with diabetes is never any fun. I hope your weight loss goals are useful for you as well.

No need to worry, he seems to be taking it in stride. I am too. I just have to focus here for the next couple of weeks and I know I'll do great. I'm pretty good at pushing myself physicly for excercise, it's just the eating right part that I'm sort of slacking on.

I hope you both are able to succeed in your goals! High blood pressure and diabetes are easily managed these days.
He should talk to his doctor before he adopts an exercise program as exercise causes fluctuations in blood glucose. The best time for people with diabetes to exercise is 90 minutes after eating.
