I have the consultation with the neurologist on Monday to see about my migranes. I am hoping he can give me some insight on what is causing them because it seems that they are getting worse instead of better. I was in Sephora today and had another ocular one. Luckily it was a mini one and it went away quickly as I had to go to therapy after leaving Sephora. I sat in my car and drank on my Diet Dr. Pepper and slowly breathed and it went away. I closed my eyes as I did this and it went away. I was glad it didn't last long.

But my question is what should I expect? Are there any good questions I can ask?

Honestly, seeing a neurologyst is probably the best person you can see, so hopefully they can help you out. I would just tell him every little symptom you have, even if you dont think it was from the migrane. I talk my docs ear off so much im sure if they werent nice they would say "shutup, just shutup!" but I would give them every bit of info you know. Good luck!

ask what food and odors to stay away from that might trigger your migranes -

sometimes chocolate, sharper cheeses, and other food items can set it off, as well as perfumes, etc.

see what they tell you.

best to you
night

Well I met with him this morning and we talked and he told me he was hestitant to put me on any other meds. I understood and listened to his arguements against any other meds. He said that with my psych problems and psych meds that the meds he could put me on could make problems worse. So he told me yoga, tai chi and the like could help matters. So I am going to check that out. I told him I do pilates and he said that could help. He also told me that if I lose more weight that would help. I wasn't surprised he played the weight card. Most doc's do.

As for my dizziness he thinks it's related to one of the meds my pdoc gives me for sleep. It's minipress which is a bloodpressure med. It lowers your blood pressure and he thinks it lowers my blood pressure too much. So I called my pdoc's office and spoke to the nurse there and she is going to speak with my pdoc about either lowering the dose or taking me off of it totally because last night I passed out twice and messed up my knee and broke my dishwasher as the dishwasher broke my fall. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to tell my landlord about the dishwasher without making him mad. It's not like I did it on purpose but it's still my fault.

=( ouch! hope you're ok!!
Also being a migraine sufferer, I think yoga has helped a lot. Pilates and I didn't get along so well, but if you can do it, great. The yoga (with the right teacher) helps with pain and relaxation in a way pilaties can't. Hope things start going better for you soon!!
