I lost my job and need some health insurance coverage. I'll have to get the short-term ones that apparently don't cover crap. I have no prior experience with this or choosing insurance and was looking for help and advice from someone who does. And if anyone knew which companies that offer short-term coverage are good to take or had ever used this insurance before? I'm overwhelmed & bewildered and don't have very long to decide.

Well I think you're right that they are not good plans, they offer minimal coverage. But they are good for keeping yourself insured so that when you are next offered insurance you won't have a break in coverage.
The least expensive plan that covers any of the expenses you have or anticipate having would be how I would choose.
