I feel miserable. My throat is swollen and ear hurts and I cant swallow because it hurts so bad. WE dont have insurance for 4 more days. So I found some old antibiotics to take to see if they help. They arent tooo old about 5 months. Must have been something that was given but didnt work for what I had. Hopefully they will work on this and I'll get to gargling salt water too.

If anyone else knows of anything more I can do let me know.

Thanks
Beth

Can you take any over-the-counter pain relievers, like Aleve (naproxen sodium) or Motrin? That would might help reduce inflammation. In addition to the salt-water rinses, drinking warm liquids like chicken soup or broth may help. Using a vaporizer may help also; if you are having congestion (which is a possibility if your ears are hurting) it will make it easier for the drainage to pass. My good friend, who is a nurse, swears by using the vaporizer.... Alternatively, taking hot showers, even a couple of times a day, might be useful if you're not using a vaporizer, to get the advantage of the steam.

Hope you start feeling better as soon as possible.

Take care,
Erin

Thanks Kathy and Erin. Yes I am taking Advil, to help with the inflamation and the temperature I am carrying. I dont have a vaporizer, but I have been doing the hot baths. At least it helps with the achiness from the temperature. I hope something works soon.

Oops sorry, pretty much forgot I posted about this. It took about a week altogether, but I am fine now. Throat feels good and so does the ear. I think the salt water gargles and the antibiotics and even eating some chips ( which I normally hate) helped heal things up.If it had not gotten any better I would have gone to the doctor because the pain was so bad. I'm just glad that everything worked ok and I didnt have to.

Thanks for asking and replying . I think I'll make it lolol
