"Where the earth won't stop spinning!"
I'm feeling a little better today then I did last night, but this Vertigo stuff is awful. Last night it was so bad I couldn't move because every little movement felt so exagerated, I could see and feel the entire room swirling, it makes me feel really sick when it gets like that. Thankfuly it cleared away by the morning, minus feeling a little off-balence and my head feeling heavy, but it's not like my brain thinks I'm doing sumersaults in my bedroom or something just because I decided to lay down to try and escape the swirly feeling. (oddly enough the only thing that really works is hunching over, that being the exact opisite of what my parents told me to do.) I'm pretty sure this is just a sinus thing, but my dad wants to check my blood sugar (nononono ![]() |

Blah, today was definately the best I've had in awhile considering were Vertigo is concerned, it's almost eliminated. I'm still feeling a teensy bit off balence, but generaly it's fading away.
But today I fell down twice today in gym class. Our warm up today was running around the gym for a few minutes. Running + My weird tripping thing that has been going on = Fall down on the floor. Thankfuly before you fall you're sort of in slow-motion so I took advantage of that to catch myself with my hand so I didn't do a faceplant or something. The second time I tripped I basicly decided that I'd just walk. But those were the only times that I triped though today, minus one little quirk in my step later on. |

You really should get it all checked out; it could be your ears or eyes and get really serious (that or even your sinuses could get more serious) and that would be a bigger hassle than anything they'd check now?

True, I'll have to tell my dad to take me to the doctors like mom asked (she asked him but then he asks me) still a bit of weirdness though, mostly when I lay down or get up. I sure hope it's something simple like you need to get more sleep/water/the janitors waxed the floors too much...

Have you been congested lately? (aka Do you have a cold).
There is no medication that will "cure" Vertigo but you can buy some medications that will alleviate the dizziness. If it is associated with congestion it should be gone in 5-7 days. You can also treat Vertigo at home with over the counter Dramamine. Dramamine is used for motion-sickness and most people find it as affective as the prescription drug Antivert.

My Mom had vertigo once. It came out of nowhere. She came down with it immediately after dropping me off at the hospital to give birth. I'd been there all night and the previous evening and she had no symptoms at all; she got home and it just hit. She couldn't open her eyes because the room would spin. It took a few weeks for her to feel better.
I hope you're feeling much better soon! |

Hi Kiya,
I've been having a lot of trouble w/ dizziness, so much so that my boyfriend finally made me go to the doctor. I got referred to an ENT. I thought it might be sinuses since I would get headaches a lot too, but the CT scan turned up negative. My next option was to get another expensive test to look at my inner ear, but my primary doc had mentioned something about vesticular rehab. Since I didn't have a lot of faith in the ENT and not much money, I opted to go straight for the vesticular rehab. Am now going to a physical therapist who fortunately believes me and said it's coming from nerves in the back of my head and neck. I had a head injury several years ago so that's part of it apparently and I am finally realizing that some of it is stemming from clenching my teeth really, really hard while I sleep (have terrible nightmares all the time so I'm stressed and anxious all night in my sleep). All this is shooting through muscles that run to the back of my head which presses on nerves there and in my neck which in turn causes pain to radiate from my head to my arm and shoulder. Not fun, but the physical therapist said most doctors don't know about this and he's even treated people who went to neurologists and were told that sort of thing can't be fixed. Apparently, there are also sensors back there at the base of your brain that relay to you where you are in time & space. So just wanted to let you know in case you go through a bunch of expensive tests for nothing and they all turn up negative. This is also affecting my hearing by the way (making it super sensitive) in case you're having any problems with that as well. Good luck. |
