Hey all...

Saw my family doc today and she says I'm getting better. I sure hope so! I have to go in for an x-ray tomorrow evening to make sure I am not getting pneumonia in my right lung. ARGH. This thing is giving me the fits. Pulmonary Embolisms suck. I was told today that it is extremely rare for someone my age(turned 28 while in hospital) with my risk factors to have emboli but I guess rare doesn't mean never!

Anyway, my breathing is getting deeper and for that I'm glad. The pain is easing some and I'm glad about that. I am currently still on 3 LT of oxygen continuous but my SaO2 was up to 98 percent today so next week if it's 100%, I get to drop down to 2 LT. That's good because that would have me off this darn contraption in a little over a month.

Oh yeah and I'm going to post this because I feel the need for support on this. I quit smoking when all this happened and I haven't lit another one since. That was 2 weeks and 3 days ago. It's getting better (the cravings) and my husband is also trying to quit so maybe some good will come from this. I have had a small taste of what it's like to not being able to breathe, and if that's what my future holds, I throw the smokes away! Forever...

Anyway, thought some of you might be interested PE Update

Now if I could just get over this incessant exhaustion!!!

Take Care all and great big group ((((Hugs)))))

Kimberly.

((((((((((((((KIMBERLY)))))))))))))))

I just today read your other post of being in the Hospital and all you went and are going through, I hope a big only not to tight friendly (((hug))) is ok.

You are recovering well it sounds (as well as can be for the condition) I wish you the quickest and most comfortable recovery possible.

I am so glad you went to the Emergency Room and that they caught this...I had a friend who had the same and they did not find it in ER and later it being undiagnosed took their life...I am so glad that they were able to 'catch' your blood clot and treat you.. I am so thankful that you are recovering and well as can be.

You are doing GREAT in quitting smoking for over 17 days now! I did some math and figured if you had got a pack a day for that many days at 3 per pack you have saved already over 51 dollars! This is an added bonus to think of in the fight to continue the battle of the cigs. This is defiantly a good thing to hear of you quitting smoking and your Husband trying as well, I will also for now try to cut back and maybe someday quit.

Thinking of you and wishing you the best of being well again and soon out shopping with all the money you save on the cigs..

Get Well Soon PE Update

Chris

(((((Chris)))))

Hug as tight as you like. I'm so happy to be alive that I welcome the soreness. REALLY.

Oh I am a lucky girl. I do realize how close to death I came and am happy to be alive! I've heard so many stories like the one you told of your friend and when he told me I had a blood clot in my lung, I was devastated. My first thought was oh I'm going to die. But he was just rushed trying to get me admitted to the hospital and treatment started, so I forgave him the initial scare!!!

Right now, the biggest problem is my doc called and she told me NOT to take the Coumadin today because my levels are quote "way too high" and to take only 1/2 a dose until I see her on Tuesday. Well that kind of has me nervous, but I did suspect because of these darn nose bleeds, luckily I've been able to stop them, so no harm.

However it's icy and nasty and windy out and I have this gauky oxygen tank as an extra appendage and I need to go to the hospital and get my x-ray done. My chest feels horribly congested. I've already started anti-biotics but the docs just want to make sure.

Oh and I thought of the money thing as well. Woohoo. Not too shabby huh PE Update I can buy me a bottle of my favorite cologne now! LOL. (It's 67.50 a bottle and as mom I always feel guilty when I slurge!)

I hope you do cut down and you know you've got someone here who knows how you feel. The cravings are actually getting better. I still want one from time to time but I look at this machine and just know it's my destiny if I don't stick this out. PE Update

Thanks so much for the hugs and I'm sure happy to have those friendly hugs. You put a smile on this girl's face!!!

Take Care of yourself, dear friend,
Kimberly.
