FOr i do not know how long I have posted about having 4 abcesses in my 4 front teeth on the bottom.
This week I put in as a on call opening. I was at top of list.
I had 4 root canels done. And one crown as one of the teeth blew aprt when the drill touched it. I will not go into what they did to the gums as its gross. Any ways it really hurts.
I had one day in btween before other 3 crowns were to be done. Something happened with imagine pictures they took. I am thinking maybe gum was to swollen. But the crown ended up not working and I had to have a temp one put on. WHich meant he had to do the thing to the gum 2xs. Unblieveable.
I have to say the pain is not nice. Thats a understatement. I do very well hidding it.
RIght now sitting here thinking I really wish it would stop for just a bit, Just a few minutes. Took nuprin. Took a little of pain killers he gave me . I do not like them. Right now close to tears ...
I do not want to face other 2 crowns and gum work. I truly am not a whiner....
My answer for every thing is I am *ok* so if I am writting this that means it really hurts............
I just want 2 minutes of no pain......my teeth hurt , gums hurt, and chin....
ok i am done whinning ty

I'm so sorry (((Muffy)))

I went for a routine extraction on a molar, which turned into a surgical extraction because the tooth broke into a thousand pieces. As he was pulling the last root out, he said "Uh oh, this is a really long one". So, now I have a hole in my sinus from the long root and have to see an oral surgeon Monday.

I'm taking an antibiotic, they offered painkillers, I said no. That was a big mistake, This crap hurts like the dickens.

Thinking of you sweet lady!

That is really bad what happened to you..
I did not want the pain killers either
He made me take the scrip. He said it was going to hurt the first time. He never says that,. Boy he was not lieing. I have had alot of dental work done. This is really hard for me to handle. I have had my jaw broke. This reminds me of that. The pain just does not end...
To think i have to go threw this hopefully only one more time is really upsetting me.
RIght now I just want the pain to end..
I am not a big whiner as you all know . I feel bad writting this now...
I have to say I never would have had the work done had i known.
I would have had the teeth pulled and a plate put in...
I know its the gum work they did thats causeing the pain..
I just want it to stop as you know

(((((Muffy)))))

I am sorry you are having to go through this and I empathize. I got my wisdom tooth that had abscessed pulled Friday. I hate going to the dentist, and have had dry socket 3x in the past. So I was not ready to go, but the tooth was. I am healing nicely but I have an infection in my glands under my jaw and it feels like someone has punched me hard. To top it off the lady dentist said I had a low threshold for pain. This sucked to hear. I SI. Maybe she did not see the scars which is a good thing. But then again I cried openly.
I understand not taking the painkillers (although she only prescribed IB & antibiotics), my sister gave me some of hers and I was sick with nausea for two days.

I wish you well on the next part of your dental journey. I pray that it will not be as painful.

The same thing happened with me and my 4 top front teeth, Muffy. So far I have only had the two front ones done... have 2 temporary crowns on them now. Just waiting for an opening to have the other 2 done. I know how bad it hurts. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I hope it's not so bad the next time.... for you and me both. Hang in there. awwww((MP)))))))) my heart goes out to you....I hope yours go ok...

I have had crowns before , In fact these are my last 4 teeth to be done..
This time I guess I was kinda sick when i went due to the abcesses and not taking the antobics.(((it was my fault))
Anyways I did not hear the part about gum surgery. I may have done it different had i understood, But I can not go back. Or could be he did not reliaze what a issue it would. I am lucky he makes his own crowns ,.They go right on . I only ended up with a temp on the second one as something went wrong with the tooth and imageing picture...

The pain is like when my jaw was broke ...none stop... But it will get better ....I have faith......I am kinda worryed about other 2 ..But that will get better too.....
Thank you so much for caring.....you are so kind

I so hope yours are ok

just wondering... I have had gum surgeries.. root canels.... abcesses.. and my nerves cut in my jaw...

I go to a specialest now.. that has.. a different kind of machine... and it doesn't hurt as much.. as it used to... not during.. and not after...

Having my teeth cleaned.. brings on TMJ pain for a couple of days...

so I go all out.. to avoid "THE PAIN".. as I call it...

so... just wondering.. if for the other 2.. there might be an alternative.. like.. the specialest I go to??

and.. also.. now.. all dental.. work.. I start antibodtics first.. before it is done...that also... "cuts down the pain"...

they also say.. and it is true for me.. with dental work.. that taking a very low dose pain pill BEFORE... the pain.. gets very bad.. is more effective.. and.. so you end up not having to take as much in all..

so.. if you were to take a 1/2 pill... as soon as.. out of dentist.. then... every 4 hours... 1/2.... it wouldn't be alot... of medication.... but might keep the pain more tolerable....and be effective.....

my son.. also.. at a young age.. had surgeries on his gums.. and teeth... so... that is what... we learned..

just want to help (((Muffy)))... not hurt..

respectfully submitted by freewill

Bite them for causing you so much pain :-) It really helps relieve the stress.

{{{{Muffy}}}} hope you're soon pain-free.

I was suppose to take the antibodtics before ...i did take some..they make me kinda ill...but i goofed with that one. Big time....I do have to take a big dose before I go a hour ahead. For some really silly reason I seem to think I can just keep going. Meaning I needed to take the pain meds ahead. And after I fough it. Thought i could tough it out as usally i can. My stubborness can be my down fall. You are very right I need to keep on on the meds .....
Because my jaw was broke years ago. And legaments hurts in neck and jaw line. I can only open my mouth so wide. You would never know to talk to me. But the dentist knows. Its real hard for him to work in there. He is the kindest man. He is always asking me if I am ok....which of course I say yes....
The biggest issue with this whole thing was he had to lance my gums. The last one was done 2xs. It was a issue ....
My gums and chin hurt and of course the jaw.. The jaw i can deal with....

Thank you so much for caring. You are so kind. I hope you are safe and well ...

(((muffy))) well, thats the way it is going this time hon so we just have to work with that.. have hope and positivity... i know its a broken record but we have to have faith at times (as you know) .. you've trusted this Dentist and i believe you still do so we will concentrate on how good this will go... when the procedure is complete then we can decide how to respond next... lets choose to believe it will be joyful for now, ok? i'm holding your hand with this and you are very strong... it will be ok hon...
