Well..remember I was sick last week? on the 4th, I went to ER and had some tests run because I was in so much pain and my husband and I were shocked to find out that my pain (right side chest and back) weren't caused by pneumonia as we suspected but from a blood clot.

I just got out of the hospital on the 11th, after being there for a week on Heparin and Coumadin and pain pills. Oh let me tell you the pain has been horrible and it's not getting any better, just having a better time controlling it. So, diagnosis....Pulmonary Embolism. I sit here now hooked up to an oxygen machine because I can't do anything without my blood o2 crashing! ARGH...This is going to be a long, slow recovery but just wanted to let you guys know that I haven't been ignoring or running away, just been in a bit of a bind!
LOL.

I hope everyone is taking care and doing well.

Take Care,
Kimberly.

PE is a very dangerous condition, KTP. We're lucky to still have you among us. Give yourself credit for doing the wise thing, going to the ER, instead of just taking more pain pills.

Please let your doc know if you need more pain relief. Sometimes changing to a more powerful drug is necessary. I wish you didn't have to go through this, and I admire you for facing it bravely.

Adieu

Thanks so much everyone for your kind words and advice. ((((group hugs))))
Sometimes I wonder if it's all a dream, because I feel I'm walking around in a daze. It's sorta not affected me much. I did quit smoking. (12 days Sicker than I thought now!) And I'm not going there again.

But the pain is not getting any better, just luckily enough, the docs are keeping the pain under control. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm not sure how long to expect this recovery to be.

It seems to be a slow-going thing. I'm still on Oxygen at home and will be for atleast 3 weeks. Sucks.

Take care everyone,
Kimberly.
