While I'm "arguing" for a new forum for those who battle overeating and improper eating... I think this is the best place to have this thread....<font color="purple">
I gained 18 lbs last year; it was part of a severe drug reaction. I have not been able to lose it. There's a family reunion, 85th birthday celebration in Orlando the end of this month, and not only do I wish to look better in my clothes, but the exertion will be overwhelming if I don't lose some of this weight! (Even though I will use a motorized wheel chair.) I need someplace to keep track of what I eat. I'm not looking for much more than that, though food suggestions and support will be appreciated. It's proven that the first really good step for adjusting your eating is to see just what it is you ARE eating, when, and what foods you really enjoy: work from there. I have a host of maladies that cause eating to be tougher than for the "AVERAGE" person. TMD and chronic pain to name two. SO? Anyone want to join me in this? You don't have to make comments about how you ate such and so and feel guilty. Nope. It helps to just say today I ate--------- and leave it at that. Okay. Let's see. It's noon here. All I've eaten thus far is a Zone bar, and water. ![]()

Oh Sky this is such a good idea, ty.
Had our family DR tell me I MUST lose weight or look forward to a wheelchair because of obesity, don't want that, besides I'm able to move around really good, enough said. So far today I've eaten 6 celery sticks, and 2 rice cakes, 1 pepsi Angie ![]()

I eat anything low fat whenever I can. I have replaced almost everything (except for mayo) with the no fat type of foods from the store. This does the trick for me. I am also loving the site of slimfast. I have found a lot of support and good eating ideas there. What I do when I want to seriously diet, is read, and search (online) the companys that sell diet foods. They have all kinds of information and great recipes. Even if I do not cook them, they stay in my mind and motivate me to stay on my diet. They make the no calorie and no fat stuff look and taste really good. I quess a lot of it is truly psychological, so reading it and thinking about it is a great step. Good Luck on your diet. Remember if you fall off of it, just pick yourself back up and go from there. I have also posted some Blender drinks that are my favorites. They are so sweet and filling, that it does not seem like low cal food. There is also endless variations with a blender if you have one. Just search on the internet for recipe ideas and blend away. You can have as many as you like, since so many are filled with fruit and ice. Best of Luck! Colors |

I had a Zone bar during the nite and one this morning... have early eye doctor appt. hmmm... they put me off to after first of year and now I pay the deductible? ...wonder if worker comp authorized it???? streeeessss

Reacted to the zone bars. I had problems last night wth the one, but didn't put it with the problem. This morning after I had one, it was definitely an allergic reaction (won't go into details.)
Bad day all around. It's 4:30 and haven't eaten. I just can't today. ... sigh.

soup sounds good... didn't eat today still too upset.
ha! I couldn't do jello EVER! even when my mother stood in the kitchen with me and clocked/timed the whole thing... it never turned out. She never figured out why. If I do too much sugar I won't lose. The soda a day I was having proved that to me. Once I quit the soda, before, then I lost. sigh

Ok. Went to eat. Ate half a dinner of spaghetini bolognase, salad with vinegarette dressing, 2" x 4" sliver of apple pie, and a cup of decaf coffere. The other half will probably be lunch tomorrow?
I can't recall the exact number,,, will watch for it in my "travels" but a food person (chef?) says that a person typically eats the same # of foods no matter how they are presented... that what you choose to eat doesn't really vary much. I think he said something like only 10 different foods. It figured out correctly for me (and my T) I prefer the same certain vegetables, same certain pastas, etc and apple ANYTHING for dessert. ![]()
