Talked with my primary care physician about having her take over prescribing my chemo pills and following my blood counts.

She said if I saw hem/onc once a year with an occassional blood test, she would consider it but because I have to see him so much and have so many blood tests, she believes it would be in my best interest to either stay with him or get a second opinion from another hem/onc.

I told her I was thinking about setting up an appointment at Moffitt Cancer Center and she said they are the best around. But again, every time I go there with my mother, it's so depressing. And I'd be there every month.

I guess I just have to suck it up and stick it out. Talked to my Dr. *boo-hiss*

... or give Moffit a shot and see how it goes...
I wonder if going there for yourself, it might feel differently.
Thanks for this!

You are all so sweet. Thanks for caring about me.

Bebop no worries. The "experts" call it a progressive cancer, I call it a blood disorder. It's all in how one looks at it.

I've been on chemo pills since 2002 and I'm just plain sick of the whole thing.

Sick - sick - sick of it.

(((((((((((((((((Orange)))))))))))))))) If you go to the new place, can you come back to where you are now if it doesn't work out? I wish so much you didn't have to deal with this too.

((Ms orange)))))))))) my sister my friend
She said it was the best place? your Dr?
you are the best you deserve the best. I know its hard to go there and see all you see.
Yes it is depressing. ((( have been with my Dad years ago to a cancer hospital)) ((been on the childrens floor once with son))) I know what your talking about.
But the best is the best. Which means they may have ideas new ones and new cures that are out there.
Thats why they are the best. Plus the success rate is good.
I wish you were not going threw this....cause i care so much about you..
and want the best for you (((((((((((((orange)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Give them a go if you can..........

Thanks everyone. I appreciate you taking the time to listen and respond.

I think today I'll just fling myself down on the ground, have a temper tantrum, then cry myself to sleep.

Thanks for your support and kind words, everyone.

It just doesn't seem all that important to me right now.

I'm so sorry my pretty friend. That is so undeniably horrid to have to go through... Doctors suck. Actually, health problems in general suck.

If you ever need someone to rant at, I always am here to listen.

Love,

Gus
