I have one on each wrist. The one on my left wrist is worse. My whole arm can ache.
My GP knows about them.
And I'm doing my best to take care of myself.

Just wondering if anyone else has ever had these?

There was a lady I worked with some years ago that had one on one of her wrists. Her doc took a heavy book and hit her wrist with it and smashed it, and that was the end of it. It never came back and she said what he did didn't hurt any more that just being hit by the book.

I couldn't believe it, but I saw her the next day and the cyst was gone.

Thanks.

As someone who's self harmed, I don't want to even go there with the book method.... It can also be dangerous, I've read, that the fluid can land up in the wrong place.

The homeopathic remedy I'm taking seems to be easing the pain, even if the ganglion's still there.

The heavy book treatment is how ganglions were treated back in the day. The old fashioned term - "Bible Bump".

I had one starting on my right wrist. I researched the subject and realized the cause was some repetitive heavy lifting that was causing the bulge. I stopped the heavy lifting and the bulge disappeared over a months time. I caught it early and don't know if that helps anyone. What I learned has helped me be more cognizant of what and how I lift heavy things now. I'm more apt to wrap/tape my wrists now if I'm doing strenuous lifting.

Hi ... I recently had a thumb ganglion and by the time I got to the specialist (2 months) it had gone down. He told me if it comes back to let him know and he will surgically remove it. Never on my wrist though. This is my first experience.

we have one on the right hand just in front of the wrist, the book method has been suggested to us but we think it might be rather dangerous
the surgeons refused to remove ours , as they said it was too close to the nerve plexus of the hand
it can be very painful & swell if we knock it on something, but it seems we're stuck with it

we had no idea this was so common, our docs have always acted like it was something very peculiar & weird, although they actually caused it with a drip tube they left in too long we think (this was nearly 40 years ago now)

not sure this is very helpful, except so you know you are not alone
