As life would have it son after hurting his rt leg wreastling was told by Drs he could go to ski club with his school. Now remember hes 18 not much i could do.
This is after broken nose, broken ankle. leg thing and i am sure there is something i forgot
This thursaday teh school called ....I thought oh no what did he do now lol forgetting about sking.
Teacher said I have some bad news ,,,,,I said joking I wish to not hear it . He said its ok not that bad, Thats when i relized they were calling from the mountain. Any ways he said he went down a jump and missed . Talked to the EMT guys who were great. They splinted him up and he rode to where the hospital is.
Oh forgot to mention he got a ride down the mountain in one of those sled things. I am so glad I was not watching the web cam there.
After much to do,.hospital sent him home with another knee brace. splint thing they use now. Today how ever his foot went cold. He decided not to tell me till later. I love him....
So tomorrow its off to the Drs for him....
Im not sure weather to buy bubble wrap? open a used brace store ...
or have him marry a nurse from the hospital.
The good news is he does not feel pain like you and I as I have said before ......
Side note the school nurse called on mon and wanted to know if my hair was grey yet.....LOL
then she wanted to know what she would do next year with out him. awwwwwwww
Kids gotta love them........

muffy i got a good laugh about your post. you have a very funny side. yes, boys in particular can make us grey before our time but we gotta love'em. now that my son is older all the things he ignored medically have come back to bite him in the behind. he's creaking around. so now he will attend to those things...ha. i try to not say, i told u so...it's so very tempting. he has to have spinal fusion and i've had the same operation. when he got word that's what they need to do, this big guy who went to iraq x3 calls me up and said, was it very painful, mom? i was tempted to say VERY!!! but i took pity on him cause he must have worried himself sick. when i got the operation he was so supportive and said , mom everything is goin to be ok. you'll be better than new. now the shoe's on the other foot. ...i'll be sweet to him and suggest he milk it to the bone since he's such an active person in his children's life. it'll be like a vacation from the "duties".
thanks for sharing your son's recent adventures.

(((((madisgram))))))))))) aww((ty))) thank your son for going to iraq for us. That must have been very hard on him. And you too my friend. Our children can give us grey hair forsure. My hairdresser takes care of that LOL '
I give her grey hairs telling her what he has done to himself next.
Someone very wise told me to tell him he only gets one body in life. I did told him that
Im glad I could make you laugh...The EMT guy was wondering why i took it so well.
I just repeated his latest visits to the ER.
In life I have learned gotta go with the flow. As long as hes still walking thats good.
I hope your son makes it threw that ok. I am sure it is a worry for you.
When do they stop worrying us.
your so kind...
A side note ......he walks in his sleep. He can even do that while on crutches.......
what a kid gotta love him....

muffy dont' know why i re-checked this post...u're not going to believe this but my son walks in his sleep too when he's stressed out!!!! (maybe they're related) i was a wreck he'd go off marching in his sleep in iraq....when he was young and at boot camp he tried to get in the bed with another soldier while sleep walking. omg, he never lived that one down. don't ask, don't tell, heheh. no he's not, but i'm sure that other soldier was saying whatt......??? another time they were marching and i guess he was overtired. he fell asleep while marching and when the sarge told them to take a left, my son kept marchiing straight!!! we have such funny stories about his sleepwalking. in iraq he said he slept with one eye open all the time so i guess that's why we never heard of him sleepwalking in a combat zone.
aww thanks for the heads up re his having been in iraq a number of times. he's home safe for now and i'd like it to stay that way. i told him i didn't know if i could experience that again. recently he saw some gray hairs on my head and he said, what's this mom? he was joking around but i said, this is what iraq did to your mother!!! we both had a good laugh but it's TRUE. it all happened in the worst tour he had, #2. he was in constant danger. i was amazed when the grey showed up but the doc said stress can do that to you.
ok "chatty cathy" is gonna shut up now..yeah we gotta love'em...

my son's bdroom was near the top of the stairs. i had to go and ask the doc if this could be a supreme danger to him with his sleepwalking. doc said no. the way i'd know my son was up many times during the night was he'd most often try to walk into his walk-in-closet but wanted to continue through the wall so i'd hear all this noise...thunk, bang, thunk...course the closet was a mess by this time. and yeah, tom could talk to me too and eyes open. doc said just calmly tuck him back onto the bed.
love the story about the shower..heehehe...that's one tom didn't do thank goodness. i'll tell him he's got a cuz...he'll love the stories about your son. he's got our sense of humor.
when he was young in the army they nicknamed him "snoredac" due to hsi sleepwalking. that's what everybody called him. in iraq his light weight hat on the back, for id they'd write their name. his said "snoredac". i said how in the world will they be able to id u with that on the back of your hat? he said, oh, they'll know, mom.
ok gotta run...u be special, muffy.glad we're friends.

((madisgram)))) My sons room is now upstairs too. He has only fallen down them once sleep walking and that was on his back side, He woke up, lol He too has a good sense of humor about life too. Maybe it comes with sleep walking.
When he feels it coming on and sometimes he knows ((maybe as hes over tired)))
he will sleep out in the living room near my room. I hear him as soon as he hits the kitchen lol
The story we laugh about the most. Is when we lived at the other place. He had a air conditioner in his room. He had leaned on it one night. His bed was next to it. No one saw including him. LOL
till all the water from it filled his room. LOL
What a mess......your son sounds so much like mine. hummm LOL
I am glad we are friends too

This actually reminds me of a (sort of) funny story my dad told me about his friend last week....

My dad's friend's son, was skiing down this local mountain, he hit a jump, but something must have been wrong with the jump coming up to fast or something, so he landed on his back and fractured his vertebrae. Ow. BUT THEN my dad's friend went skiing with his coworkers and stuff and guess what? He hit the same jump and landed on his back. The same way. This kid comes up to him and says "My friend did the same thing!" and then he tells him he's his dad and the kid goes "Noo waaaay dude!" and he must of text messaged his son because by the time he walked back down the mountian he was waiting for him. He also has some fractures in his vertabrae too. Now I guess they'll be wearing matching backbraces for awhile
