I don't think it is a bladder infection. It doesn't feel like the ones I've had.
I don't know if it is pancreatitis, although some aspects of it does seem like that. I have upper and lower abdominal pain and back pain. From my right rib to my lower abdomen/right pelvic area is the worst. I feel bloated at and below the waist.
No fever. No elimination issues. No urinary issues.
No idea what's going on but this is the second or third round of it. It makes me exhausted and it all lasts for days.

I don't know what to do to feel better. Any ideas?

It could be appendicitis, gall stones, pancreatitus, IBS or any other of numerous things.
I think it's time for a visit to your Dr or ED
Hope you feel better soon.

Hi thanks. No, I don't have the finances to see the doctor. I wish I did, but I'm currently paying off some medical expenses.
It's not hurting so much. A mystery to me.

Hey Echos. My husband has that same pain. Goes from his ribs down to his groin area. And he gets bloated. He has Crohn's. Sometimes his back and stomach hurt so much, he gets sick to his stomach from the pain. I don't know if this is why your having this pain, but it's somthing to check into. Also his pain will last anywhere between 3 days to 3 weeks (it's called a flare up). I hope you can find a doc soon to get some relief
And PS: If you can't get any pain meds for it, try warm compress and steer clear from dairy or wheat foods. Those will make the bloating worse. Hope this helps

ECHOES, I had pretty bad abdominal pain sporadically for a year or two. (It was my ovary.) What really helped me was heat on the pain. I would soak in a really hot bath for a long time, adding more hot water when needed. I would get a towel wet and lay it across me in the tub and keep putting water on it. In bed, I used a hot water bottle. (I also had pain meds, but even without the meds, the heat could help somewhat.) You say this is the second or third round of it. So it comes and goes? That was very much how it was with me and my ovary. It only hurt when I ovulated on the right side. This could be several months in a row for a couple of days, or there could be several months respite if the left ovary happened to be the one ovulating. Anyway, the episodic nature of your pain and the fact that it only lasts for days me wonder if it is related to your cycle? You might try tracking the pain and seeing how it relates to your cycle. Maybe after a few months, a pattern could be seen. I'm sorry you are unable to see a doctor.

Thank you for sharing your experiences, Sunrise.
I am a few years post menopausal, so I no longer have a cycle.

I wish you could afford to go see the Dr, I don't know how your health care works, if you were to go to the emergency dept when you are in pain would it cost less / be free? I do think you need to get it checked out if only so that you aren't in pain.
I doubt it's pancreatitis, that doesn't tend to come and go, just gets worse and makes people very ill quite quickly. It could be something like diverticulosis / IBS. It could be something gynae despite you being post menopausal which is why you should get it checked out, even if it's just blood tests to start with.
*wishes she had the answers*

Thanks, Splitz. It's better.
I have a history of chronic pancreatitis and had part of my pancreas removed a few years ago. I do get it from time to time.

My health plan works the same no matter where you go, and the ER would cost me more. Besides the ER is for admitting or stablizing until the person can see their doc. T
I have seen a GYN in the last year, have never had GYN issues. And it isn't confined to that area.

Thanks for your response

Well, there goes that theory! But, yes, I agree with splitz, it still could be something gyn-related. When I had my ovary problem, the pain was not localized to the ovary. What caused the pain was that the ovary bled into the abdominal cavity, and this is very painful. A number of organs, not just gyn ones, might bleed into the cavity and cause this type of pain. I am really glad to hear, though, that the pain has gone away. Anyway, my suggestion was really to try heat, as I think this can help a bit with lots of types of abdominal pain, and the good thing is, it's free. I want to echo splitz: I wish you could go to the doctor.

Echoes, what is pancreatitis? Does your body miss having part of the pancreas?

Sunrise, pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas. I don't know if my body misses it, but it does affect my digestion in some ways. This is the procedure I had done, after a year of tests and ERCPs and being so sick. The treatment for pancreatitis is resting the pancreas, so no food is taken in. http://www.mayoclinic.org/pancreatic...procedure.html

I am seeing my doctor Tuesday. I'm not sure why really. Most symptoms are gone and he will want to refer me to the gastroenterologist that I can't afford to run more tests that I can't afford. That's why I avoid going at all. The office visit is expensive enough; why go if you can't afford the tests or procedures they recommend. Necessary things but costly.

I went because I have been feeling so fatigued. And my throat hurt--not to swallow like a sore throat from a cold or flu, but it hurts to talk and I'm having hoarseness. I'm going to see an ENT who will run a scope to look at my vocal chords, but my IM doc expects him to say I have effects of acid reflux. I have been treated for it before, but I didn't think I had it. I don't have heartburn or other common symptoms assoicated with acid reflux. My IM doc tells me there are symptoms a person might not consider, and he had one patient who's only symptom was a cough. So, that could explain my abdominal pain and I may begin taking acid reducers and that's a quick fix, so yea.

A polysomnography for the fatigue. I have a CPAP and used it a few weeks to see if it would help, but it is 15+ years old, so updating the sleep study might lead to adjustments to my machine or mask so it will be more helpful.
I will use it, as I did for years. But I am going to get this weight down so I can ditch it again! lol. When I lose weight a few years ago from the pancreatitis, I didn't need the CPAP any more, and I was glad to let it reside in my closet.

I am also hypothyroid and feel as if I'm not taking my meds, but I am. So, maybe part of the fatigue is the Hashimotos. I am having labs done Friday.

Medical expenses I don't need, but I am looking forward to feeling better!
