The other one got so long, and it kind of died.
How's everyone doing with their efforts? I got into a pair of jeans this morning that I couldn't even button a couple of months ago. Yay! __________________ If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space! Rondeau |

I don't weigh any less, and I feel heavier than ever, but I'm fitting into size 14 jeans easily. Go figure. IDK Size 12 next.
Craving mashed potatoes lately. ??? Not drinking as much water as I need to.. ran out of bottled water and it's too heavy for me to transport except bottle by bottle from trunk. Sigh. Still battling respiratory problems from the pneumonia... cough cough. __________________ |

I'm not doing so well. School stress didn't help. I'm trying to eat more fruits and vegetables. At least my Mom stopped buying potato chips.

Sky,
I have a PUR water filter on my kitchen tap. City water makes me very sick. I can drink the water as long as I use the filter. They are relatively inexpensive and are definately cheaper than buying water. Hugs, Jan __________________ I still dream and I still hope, therefore I can take what comes today. I've used the gallon jug Brita water filters before. We lived in town and it was very chlorinated and yucky tasting. It really made a big difference. _Sky, I realize a gallon is too much for you to lift, I'm just endorsing that the inexpensive home filtration devices really do work well.
I've lost 10 pounds in 4-1/2 weeks. All of the weight I put on since my daughter started her weight-gaining diet is GONE!! I'll be the first to say totally changing your eating style is NOT easy, but the results are well worth it. If I don't stick to pre-proportioned meals and writing down everything I eat every day, it would be really easy to slip back into over eating. I really want to prevent weight-related health problems as much as possible. __________________ If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space! Rondeau |

Tks. yes I use the Brita sys also (my dog can't drink tap water either ) I can't keep it in the frig, so any filtered water is room temp... dog and I go through lots... I just really drink more and enough, when there's a cold pint in the frig.
I ate an apple today. and some mashed potatoes (boxed) Haven't been to restaurant in 2 days. Probably go tomorrow, after PT & T... regular schedule? Yes, as we age it's more and more important to stick close to a healthy weight. I know my docs don't say I'm overweight, but charts say so...and I wanna be that "10" __________________ |

I keep a pic of a half naked lady on the frig lol It reminds me what I can be again... (not that it really does any good being on the frig, as I eat out all my real meals!)

I think of the long-term health benefits.
I fell off the diet wagon this weekend. I was so busy running around taking care of errands that I wasn't home to eat healthy, and I didn't fit in any exercise. I'm back on track today. __________________ If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space! Rondeau |

I ate 1/2 supper of chicken parmigiana, green beans, salad today. Met my mom for a meal, I thought. She arrived late and only ate dessert. __________________ |

I'm still hanging in here. Water park tomorrow. Not sure what the incentive will be after that. Spring and summer weather I suppose, and the fact that I like having less of a spare tire. I just FEEL better.
I'm back at my baseline adult weight at the moment after peeling off the sudden 10-pound gain since August. It's weird. Last year, at this same weight, I wouldn't have considered wearing a two piece swimsuit that actually showed a little tummy skin. Now I can't wait to wear it. __________________ If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space! Rondeau |

Oooh I'm glad to see a thread like this. I was big into a thread like this a couple months ago but haven't been for awhile.
I've worked out the last two days! Since I quit drinking I lost a ton of wait just by not drinking, but I'm very flabby. I've been wanting to start working out but haven't, even though I have a great gym at my apartment with a beautiful view. So I'm thinking it's my time now because I suddenly got motivated. Half hour on the treadmill doing a minute of a slower pace and a minute of fast pace with an incline, alternating for 30 minutes. Kicks your butt, lemme tell ya! And then lifting waits for my arms. Only lifting 20 pounds, but I'm managing 10 sets of 30 in 5 different variations....so....off to a good start, telling ya'll here so maybe I'll have to keep reporting so maybe I'll keep it up, hehe. Wanna be hot for bathing suit season for the first time ever! __________________ |

I already posted this once in Social, but Rayna told me about this thread!! Woo Hoo!!
I've lost 26 pounds within the last 2 months with diet and exercise (walking mostly). I'm so proud of myself. This is a major thing for me. I still have 50 more to go, but I'm happy I got off to this wonderful start. My doc has me on a specific diet, and I do the walking when I have time. But it all seems to be working! I'm amazed. I feel really fat, flabby. But I'm not. I'm weighing alot and wearing a loose 14... but I'm smaller than I feel or thought I was!
I went through boxed up clothing and pulled out a sweet little dress that I lamented over wanting to wear it for a dinner coming up.. in April or May? And thought, ah, try it on anyway. It fits! It's an 11-12. So I tried on some shorts that are 10s... yep they fit. I wish I could "just" do crunches or such to tone up ... but I can't... now I'm not sure how to look better. I wonder how if I don't do this now, I will look as I get older.. and more skin you know? Time to tone it now. I'm eating oatmeal with walnuts or oatmeal to go squares for breakfast. And a piece of fruit each day. That's an improvement. I heard again... what I read a few weeks ago... about high bad cholesterol not being the big problem for women, but LOW GOOD CHOLESTEROL is what causes heart trouble. I'm eating the walnuts to increase my HDL, as it's only 9 and should be at least 40. (My LDL is low, but that's ok.) __________________ |

Sky...can you do Pilates? They are amazing for toning up and lengthening. And they're no impact. They don't make you feel totally winded when you're done, and 20 minutes a workout actually does something. I haven't done them in awhile since I don't have a DVD player, but you can do them right on your living room floor. Congrats on fitting into those clothes!!! Whoo hoo!
I haven't worked out in 2 days, was busy Friday, and lazy yesterday. Hopefully will get to the gym again today. __________________ |

I haven't exercised in a week and after the weekend vacation I put back on a pound. At least it's only a pound. Considering all the pizza and ice cream and other fast food I ate, I'm really surprised it wasn't more.
