Yesterday was the first day of school and things went alright. My son seems to like his teacher, but generally is not happy and did cry last night and this morning about school. The rules boarder on the asinine and I have trouble with a lot of their ideas of how kids are required to behave. Oh ya, let me say this though, I don't generally have a problem with the teachers, most every one I've met and worked with was a great person and tried their very best, within the rules, to teach the kids, so this is in no way an indictment of the teachers at all.
I'm happy to hear that you are pleased with the teachers. Often it's the 'system' that sets children up for failure not the teachers. I'm currently battling nutrition in our local schools with a few others etc.. It's time for change and to steal a line from Obama "yes we can".

My son starts K on September 1st and his anxiety gets the best of him sometimes. I plan on contacting the school psychologist to discuss and I plan on bringing my son in to visit his teacher a couple of times before school starts. The positive side to all this is my son is expressing his emotions (something I never did as a child as I wasn't allowed to). I hope your son adjust quickly and feels better about school soon.

I'm going to try reading a few books to my son about kindergarten. I heard the book titled "The Kissing Hand" has a way to help them cope.

You're a great mom for caring so much for your son!
