I have found that being a child is more challenging than anything. Especially if you want to raise your children to become the best that they can possibly be. In my experience of being a mother, I have found great motivation in motherhood for the following reason: 1. It builds great responsibility to oneself as well as for others. 2. It builds patience that is very helpful in life when dealing with various life situation. 3. It builds faith in the divine spirit to know that everything will be okay. We can not do it alone. and 4. It builds determination to accomplish many goals that you would never have thought could be possible.
For the mothers out there who are reading my thread, despite of the challenges that you may face in raising your children, please know that you are not alone. There are wonderful support out there no matter personality your child has. We will overcome.Yes, we will overcome! Stay strong. Your children needs your support through their challenges. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.Happy Holidays to you all. I am grateful to be apart of this forum. I would love to hear from others. My children are 4yrs old and 8yrs.old. I am looking forward to chating with other parents.
Thanks for this!

My children are grown and have children of their own, but just like birthing, it's something you don't forget much about!

I think it's important to realize that you don't have to be supermom (though my sons called me that in jest I think) to raise children well. Sincerity, honesty, ethics and morals are key, imo. Allowing children to learn from failure is important. (This "no losers, everyone gets a prize is already showing its negative effects on society .)

I have a personal assistant who is quite smart, but naive in many things in this country. I've found that I can tell her something over and over, but until I show her, and let her try and fail, she doesn't learn it. Children are that way too. Plus it builds resiliency and the ability to pick oneself up after falling.

Continue the journey no one else understands but "moms."

Thanks for this thread. I would like to say that us step-moms go through the same thing. But it is VERY rewarding!
