Hello Everyone.

I wanted to see what other parents had to say here on this topic. My daughter has croup, 100 102 fever. it went down. My husband didnt want to stay home today because he had an important dinner tonight. I had an important meeting to go to and apparently it was "very" important that I attend. I had to send her to school.

When speaking with my sister today, I was scolded for sending her to school with croup, but no fever. I told her I could not miss work or yet be fired. We live in USA so in this state its a right to work state.

My bosses, and such do not have children, are not married. They do not understand what the outcome may be if you send the kid to school sick, get other children sick. Yes I know it was a hard decision to make. She is feeling a little better but making me feel like a bad parent

If I had stayed home I would have been scolded by my co-workers, my bosses and so forth. Yet, possibly loosing my job. Have they ever threatened me for staying home. No. I have that sagging head down look from my bosses and upper bosses. And speak to me like I am a dog,

advice?

No fever, is no fever. If the school nurse, didn't call right away, then you made an acceptable judgment call.

My half sister went up one side and down the other of me, when I was in court, with my initial divorce proceedings and my son had gotten sick, and I needed to get to my part time job, after court. He was with my mom who was ailing and her husband, before my stepmother and sister had picked the kids off, before my then soon to be ex, could watch them for the night.
You'd have thunk, I'd committed a mortal sin, the way she judged the situation. My keeping a part time job was necessary to get out of an abusive marriage, but I digress.

The nurse didn't send your child home, you did nothing wrong.

None of your options in this situation were good. You made the best choice you could. Maybe your sister can come watch your daughter next time!
